Its the fourth month of the new year and yet the films which were previously suppose to be released at the end of last year or immediately in the first month of the year 2011 are totally packed in the boxes and no news of their release is on front currently.
Except Shoaib Mansoor’s Bol, which after a contineous delay is finally announced to be released on 20th May 2011, all the other big films such as Bhai Log, Love Mein Gum, Son of Pakistan and Price of honour are in a shadow and most importantly the directors of these films are also somewhere lost and no announcement regarding their release can be heard.
Bhai Log, Love Mein Gum and Son of Pakistan were all suppose to be released on Eid-ul-Azha last year but were delayed due to the frail condition of the country caused by floods at that time, but were re-announced to be released immediately next year (2011), but as we said earlier ’till now all these movies are unreleased’.
Upon scrutiny by the team of Galaxy Lollywood, we got to know that even the shooting of Bhai Log is not completed yet and the camera-work of movie’s last spell is on its way, after which director Syed Faisal Bukhari is hoping to release the film on Eid-ul-Fitr this year.
On the other hand reports regarding Reema’s Love Mein Gum suggest us that the movie is failing to hit cinemas mainly because of director Reema Khan’s unending activities on television. Not just this it is also heard that the movie prints which were suppose to get processed from India are also not completed yet.
An another film in the same line-up is director Jarrar Rizvi’s Son of Pakistan, which after so much delay is again delayed. Reports suggest us that the director was first afraid of the cricket world cup, and now he is of the view that if he releases the film this month, his efforts will be ruined by Indian premier League which is starting from 8th of the April.
Syed Noor’s Price of honour is also not at all in a different situation and the movie after so much delay and baseless hype is now also lost somewhere.
What’s more irritating for the fans of these movies is that almost no promotion of these films can be seen. Reema Khan’s Love Mein Gum is lacking movie’s pre-release promotion big time and no posters, trailers, interviews or at least on set pictures of the film are released yet.
All this can be a hidden strategy of makers of these films but if they are afraid of the ongoing conditions and popular events than they would rarely get time to release their films.
Though the comparison between two of the industries is useless currently but still just to let people know about the facts, it would be worth mentioning here that Bollywood on the other hand has released more than ten big and numerous small films this year till now.
