A shocker for the fans, yes. But definitely a blessing in disguise for Pakistan Film Industry. Mahira Khan’s upcoming ‘Coming-of-Age Drama’ Ho Mann Jahaan, which was previously all set to release this Eid-ul-Adha, is no more going to be an Eid treat for you, reported Dawn.com.
The news came while the cast member Sonya Jehan was conducting a live twitter chat with the film fans yesterday. In an answer to a fan’s question about film’s release date, Sonya replied, “InshaAllah after Moharram. :).”

On further inquiry by Dawn, a source close to the film not only confirmed the news, but also stated that Humayun’s Jawani Phir Nahi Aani also releasing on the same date actually became the reason for the film’s delay, but added that that release won’t be moved beyond the current year.
“Yes, Ho Mann Jahaan is not releasing on Eid-ul-Azha,” said the source, “the reason being that Ye Jawani Phir Nahi Aani is slated to release at that time. As a company, we decided to not go head-to-head with another local production. Pakistan makes few films every year, so we’ve done this not only in the interest of both our film and Ye Jawani, but also the industry at large.”
The source further said, “We won’t postpone Ho Mann Jahaan‘s release beyond 2015. Our second project is already lined up, so it’s important to release it this year.”
‘After Moharram’ this year stands for mid-November, which will be at least a month earlier to Yalghaar‘s recently announced released date (25 December). It will also take Ho Mann Jahaan around a month and a half away from Jawani Phir Nahi Aani, giving all three year-end releases a good solo window to generate some big numbers at box office, thus, a blessing in disguise.
Ho Mann Jahaan is directed by Asim Raza, and stars Mahira Khan, Adeel Hussain and Shehryar Munawar Siddiqui in lead roles along with Jamal Shah, Sonya Jahan and Bushra Ansari in supporting characters.
