We cannot vouch for the authenticity of these box office numbers given by independent box office tracking site Box Office Detail. However, until we have some official box-office tracking system in Pakistan this is all we have got. The numbers are also revised at times and hence you may observe fluctuations.
Finally, a box office update this year where we have something good to share.
While the first half of 2017 hasn’t been that great, Eid has provided some box office relief which the Pakistani Film Industry desperately needed. Both the films have opened to packed houses and the numbers have been encouraging.
As per estimates ‘Yalghaar’ has raked in 1.75 crore whereas ‘Mehrunisa V Lub U’ has collected 1.1 crore. These numbers are exceptionally good considering how other films like ‘Balu Mahi’, ‘Chalay Thay Saath’ etc have had a total box office run of less than 3 crore.
FYI the biggest day 1 at the box office in Pakistan is by Bollywood biggie ‘Sultan’ which raked in 3.5 crore plus on its first day.
