We cannot vouch for the authenticity of these box office numbers given by independent box office tracking site Box Office Detail. However, until we have some official box-office tracking system in Pakistan this is all we have got. The numbers are also revised at times and hence you may observe fluctuations.
The Eid frenzy is over for the local releases as the second week comes to an end with conclusive results. It was surely a battle of titans as four Pakistani films (7 Din Mohabbat In, Azaadi, Na Band Na Baraati, and Wajood) competed with three Hollywood films (Jurassic World, Hereditary, and Ocean’s 8) on the Eid week and the competition got intensified last week with the release of Bollywood biggie Race 3.
Here is the box office report of local releases for last two weeks with their expected lifetime collections.
7 Din Mohabbat In
Mahira Khan and Sheheryar Munawar starrer 7 Din Mohabbat In topped the local releases. It did not only open to remarkable response but also held its position firmly on the weekdays following Eid. The film debuted with 5.4 crore on the Eid weekend and took its first-week (6 days) gross to around 8 crore.
The second week, however, turned out quite challenging for the film as Eid frenzy and Mahira Khan factor fizzled out. The film dropped by around 80% and could earn only 1.75 crore in the second week. This was a big blow to the film’s overall performance as its two-week cume remains shy of 10 crore. The film is expected to complete its lifetime run in the vicinity of 11 crore only.
Here is the breakdown of two-week collections of 7 Din Mohabbat In:
- Sat (Day 1): 1.5 cr
- Sun (Day 2): 2.0 cr
- Mon (Day 3): 1.9 cr
- Tue (Day 4): 1.2 cr
- Wed (Day 5): 0.85 cr
- Thu (Day 6): 0.60 cr (Week 1: 8.05 cr)
- Fri (Day 7): 0.60 cr
- Sat-Thu (Day 8-13): 1.15 cr (Week 2: 1.75 cr)
- Total: 9.80 crore
Azaadi
Moammar Rana and Sonya Hussyn starrer Azaadi ended up at the second position among Eid releases. The film opened impressively to 4.1 crore and ended its first week run with the gross of 6.4 crore. The film was more successful at the circuit cinemas as compared to the multiplexes.
Azaadi, just like 7DMI, also dropped on the second week, taking its two-week cume to approximately 8.4 crore (according to the numbers provided by the makers). The film is already close to its lifetime run.
Here is the breakdown of two-week collections of Azaadi:
- Sat (Day 1): 1.05 cr
- Sun (Day 2): 1.65 cr
- Mon (Day 3): 1.4 cr
- Tue (Day 4): 1.0 cr
- Wed-Thu (Day 5-6): 1.3 cr (Week 1: 6.4 cr)
- Fri-Thu (Day 7-13): 2.0 cr (Week 2: 2.0 cr)
- Total: 8.4 crore
Wajood
On the third position, we have Javed Sheikh’s directorial comeback Wajood, which failed to take a high flight and staggered on the box office. The Danish Taimoor starrer thriller opened dismally to 1.85 crore on the Eid weekend and could not sustain much afterward. The film could rake in only 2.46 crore in the first week.
The second-week numbers of the film are not out yet, but from the trend, it seems it would have hardly crossed 3.5 crore in two weeks.
Here is the breakdown of two-week collections of Wajood:
- Sat (Day 1): 0.50 cr
- Sun (Day 2): 0.70 cr
- Mon (Day 3): 0.65 cr
- Tue-Thu (Day 4-6): 0.61 cr (Week 1: 2.46 cr)
- Fri-Thu (Day 7-13): 1.0 cr (Week 2: 1.0 cr) estimation
- Total: 3.4 crore estimation
Na Band Na Barati
The fourth and last local release, Na Band Na Barati, remained a disaster as it could hardly make 1 crore in its entire run. The film was a complete washout after the first week.
Summary
Here is the summary of the two-week collections of the local releases.
- 7 Din Mohabbat In: 9.8 crore
- Azaadi: 8.4 crore
- Wajood: ~3.4 crore
- Na Band Na Barati: ~1 crore
