The HUM Bridal Couture Week took place this past weekend in Lahore, and boy oh boy it’s like half of our industry decided to show up and walk the ramp as showstoppers. And we don’t say this in a complaining way by the way!
The event took place for three days, had twenty-four designers, and a whopping thirty celebrities walking the ramp. We attended the three-day event, gave you all the glamorous updates on our Instagram, and now it’s time to give you guys the lowdown on what all happened at the event.
Yasir and Iqra (sort of) made things official
The pair walked the ramp for Nickie Nina and the chemistry was undeniable. The two ‘friends’ were giggling, looked comfortable with each other, and honestly, we approve wholeheartedly of this new couple.
Just so you know, the last time Nickie Nina showcased their collection at a fashion week, they had Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir walk the ramp, which was one of their first walks together. So looks like the designers have a knack for playing the cupid 😉
Mr. and Mrs. Butt made their first appearance after marriage
The couple made their first public appearance after their high-profile wedding, and it was definitely a sight for the sore eyes. The two lovebirds were completely smitten by each other and we loved every second of it! Also, might we add that the duo looked better in Ayesha Sadya creations than what they actually wore to their wedding.
Hania’s dare bare act
Hania Aamir walked the ramp for Munib Nawaz in a rather risque top which said ‘rebel’ on it. This girl definitely knows how to shake things up. We loved this bold avatar of the actress and hence it’s in our favorite moment’s list!
Gohar and Kubra dab it out
BFF’s Kubra Khan and Gohar Rasheed walked the ramp for Tabassum Mughal and made sure that they had a lot of fun. From the dramatic entrance to the final dab, it was all one entertaining walk.
Ahsan Khan and Sonya Hussyn promoted Aangan
Ahsan Khan and Sonya Hussyn walked the ramp for Tabassum Mughal. With them, they brought some drama to the ramp with their little performance which looked straight out of a film. How we wish it was a bit longer.
Hira Mani and Neelam Muneer brought some naach gana
Hira Mani for Harris Shakeel and Neelam Muneer for Annus Abrar were probably the only two show-stoppers who stayed true to the spirit of BCW, which is all about drama, naach gana, and having fun on the ramp.
The two actresses made sure they owned the ramp from the word go and gave the audiences a performance worth remembering.
Ali Josh’s angry young man act
Now we are not exactly sure what happened but Ali Josh was visibly upset when he did his show-stopper act and seemed rather angry. However, even weirder was that the actor failed to show up for the final walk with the designer Murtaza Hussain, who had to do it with a model from his show.
Mawra Hocane opened and closed the weekendÂ
In an interesting turn of events, Mawra Hocane was the very first show stopper for the very first day, and also the last one on the last day. Though she got the most hideous outfits from both of the otherwise brilliant collections (Nilofer Shahid and HSY), she made up for the clothes with her attitude and the starry walk.
Zaid Ali T and Yumnah made their debut
Social media star, Zaid Ali T walked the ramp with his wife Yumnah for Umsha by Uzma Babar. The two young celebrities looked rather adorable despite the weird walk, but hey, it was the first time they walked at a fashion show, so it’s cool.
Saba Qamar proved that she is a superstar
In case you had any doubts, Saba Qamar made sure that each and everyone in the audience knew that she was a superstar and the ultimate diva. Her walk had to be seen and the way she turned around and posed for the cameras before walking back, man that was magic.
Reema was the substitute for Ranveer Singh
Fresh off the success of his latest shoot with Ranveer Singh, Mohisn Naveed Ranjha showcased his collection and had everyone guessing as to who would be the showstopper for the designer. And to our surprise, it was the Lollywood diva, Reema, who closed the show looking like a million bucks.
Hareem Farooq’s new avatar was hotness personified!
Can we all take a moment to appreciate the beauty that is Hareem Farooq. She has dropped the weight, upped the hotness quotient, and boy she was perfection.
