Fringes to Fame: Imran Ashraf from being a disaster to brilliance today

Imran Ashraf

Making his debut in 2011, Imran Ashraf stepped into the industry with no formal training in acting and only a child star performance years back as experience. He moved to Karachi specifically to pursue the craft and landed his first role in the drama serial Wafa Kaisi Kahan Ka Ishq. His performance had been a disaster in this first role though.

In the years to come, however, Imran improved by leaps and bounds. Although his work gained more finesse with time, he never gained the recognition he deserved. This was probably because he never played any leads or wasn’t related to any big names in the industry.

With impressive performances in Tou Dil Ka Kia Hua, Gul-e-Rana, Khuda Mera Bhi Hai, etc., he experimented from romance to comedy to pretty much everything. However, he came into the limelight for his role in Alif Allah Aur Insaan.

The Big Break

Though his role was a supporting one in Alif Allah Aur Insaan, he played a transgender named “Shammo”, and his stunning performance overshadowed even the leads in the serial.

Proving his impeccable acting skills and astounding versatility, Imran made a mark in his audience’s hearts playing Shammo, who is seen being belittled and shamed in the beginning. His heart-wrenching performance at this point leaves all his viewers misty-eyed.

As the plot moves forward, Shammo eventually turns into and flourishes as a confident and independent makeup artist. One of the toughest characters to pull off, Imran made it seem effortless and natural, proving his splendor.

His characters in Dil Moum Ka Dia and Tabeer, though similar to each other, were pulled off with perfection. In both the serials, he played a man who is tough, but immensely in love with his lady.

As he oozed emotions and love for his female partners; the kind of love every woman dreams of, his characters made the audience fall in love with him once again. Tabeer was also his debut as a writer, which added to the aura of this phenomenal actor, as the script was simply marvelous.

Imran Ashraf: The Brilliant Bhola

And finally, this bright star of our industry got what he truly deserved, and boy did he leave everybody speechless! His recent venture is the drama serial Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, in which he plays the main character “Bhola,” alongside Iqra Aziz. Bhola is a mentally weak young man who brings out every possible emotion in his viewers.

Sometimes Bhola will leave you awestruck with his innocent yet genius opinions on life, and sometimes will make you laugh or cry with that same innocence. This challenging character is carried-off by Imran in a way that, it is both heart-wrenching and awe-inspiring to watch him.

As the story of “Ranjha Ranjha Kardi” unfolds, the anticipation to watch Bhola grows every week. Though Imran was not recognized for his talents earlier, he has finally gotten the limelight and is shining gloriously.

The actor deserves every word of praise he is receiving these days, and even his colleagues in the industry, e.g., Mahira Khan, Mawra Hocane, Mikaal Zulfiqar, etc. cannot hold themselves but praise his exceptional acting skills. Imran is all set to reach for the stars and make the nation even prouder with his work.
