‘Suno Chanda’ to return with second season this Ramazan

Suno Chanda season 2

There is no doubt that the first season of the romantic comedy serial, Suno Chanda, was a bona fide success. Aired last year in Ramazan, the Farhan Saeed and Iqra Aziz starrer was an instant hit with the audience and left people craving for more.

Well, seems like our wishes have been recognised as Suno Chanda is all set to return to our TV screens with its second season this Ramazan on Hum TV.

The Confirmations

A treat to watch, the show aired every day during Ramazan last year, leaving fans wishing for more when it ended.

The news about the second season first broke out last year when BBC reporter Haroon Rashid revealed via Twitter, that he had received confirmation from Suno Chanda‘s producer, Momina Duraid, that the show has been renewed for the second season.

Many fans were still unconvinced after this tweet but then Iqra Aziz tweeted ‘Yes’ to Rashid’s post, and all doubts were cleared.

Iqra also revealed the same last month in an interview with Samina Peerzada.

With time, the hype died down, but a new revelation just came through when the drama’s writer, Saima Akram Chaudhry, tweeted that the show is ready to be shot on 10th March 2019 and will be going on air in Ramazan.

The writer also confirmed that the show would have all the old cast members on board along with new additions too.

Suno Chanda: A Huge Hit

The romantic comedy gave us a fresh pairing of Farhan Saeed and Iqra Aziz. The banter between the two cousins, trapped in a marriage without consent; and willing to do anything possible to break apart, set the mood of the whole drama.

Alongside the main leads, the colours that other cast members like Samina Ahmad, Mohammad Ahmed, Adnan Shah Tipu, Nadia Afghan, and Farhan Ali Agha, added also had many hooked to the show.

From Arsal and Jiya’s every day fights to DJ’s cunning ways of extracting money. From Shahana’s Punjabi to Jalal Khan’s Pashto, and from Kinza and Sherry ki chalakian to Bi Jaan and Shah Jahan’s efforts to keep the household together. Nazakat ki nazakat aur baat baat pe bemaar hona and Billo ka teeliyan lagana, with all that and much more, the drama had everything possible to make it an exciting watch.

Amid all the shows airing nowadays with their mostly depressing storylines, a light-hearted comedy would be a breath of fresh air.
