Project Ghazi first premiered in 2017. Due to a number of technical issues, it was decided that the film would not be released. The movie finally hit the silver screen again, yesterday after almost two years of its first premiere. We recently published its review that predicts that Project Ghazi may not be able to do well on the box office. Now that the numbers are here, they support our prediction too but being the optimists that we are, we are going to keep our fingers crossed and hope for a miracle.
Project Ghazi
Project Ghazi had a shockingly low opening, and even though we were expecting it to stay on the lower side, the numbers are just dismal. According to EPK, the film was able to collect approximately 30 lacs only which is the lowest number for a film starring Humayun Saeed. Even Bin Roye had a better start when it was released four years ago, despite the fact that it clashed with Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Wrong No.
The film ‘may’ see better numbers on the weekend, though we don’t think that’s actually going to happen because the first-day business has witnessed some troublingly low numbers. We, however, hope that the film gets a miraculous increase in numbers for it to sustain itself, in the coming week.
Sherdil and Laal Kabootar
As for Sherdil and Laal Kabootar, surprisingly both held well on the second Friday. According to EPK, Sherdil has collected around 50 lacs on its second Friday which unfortunately is more than what Project Ghazi has raked in on its first day. The overall eight-day total for Sherdil is about 6.55 crores. Here is the breakdown:
Week One: 6.05 crores
2nd Friday: 50 lacs
Total: 6.55 crores
As for Laal Kabootar alone, the film has earned almost 15 lacs on the eighth day of its release which is a good sign since the film had about the same numbers when it opened last week.
Below is the film’s approximate business until now, as per EPK:
Week One: 1.29 crores
2nd Friday: 15 lacs
Total: 1.44 crores
The film is expected to hit the 2 crores mark in the upcoming 3 to 4 days, depending on its performance on the box office.
