Box Office: 11 Day Extended Week One Numbers for ‘Superstar’, ‘Parey Hut Love’ And ‘Heer Maan Ja’

Eid-Ul-Azha has always been fruitful for the exhibitors and this year was no different. The festivities began last Monday with Eid, followed by a weekend, and then the weekdays, resulting in an 11 days an extended week 1. As expected the two big movies Superstar and Parey Hut Love brought in some good moolah for the local cinemas while Heer Maan Ja also made a decent collection.

However, it is worth mentioning that while the films collected big numbers over the Eid weekend, they all saw a steep decline in numbers once the weekdays began which can be attributed to the mixed/bad reviews that all three films have gotten from the critics and the audiences alike. This negative word of mouth has played a spoilsport resulting in collections which aren’t as great as was expected.

Superstar and Parey Hut Love are both tied in for the first position whereas Heer Maan Ja is in the second position. Here is a detailed breakdown:

Superstar

Superstar had the strongest opening among all the releases and did good business in the first 4 days, which were national holidays. The credit here goes to Mahira’s box office pull amongst the crowds as the film stood victorious against the huge budget and promotions of ARY release; Pary Hut Love.

Friday onwards the film did see a slight decline as it was a working day after the 4 day Eid festivities, but it picked up the momentum over the weekend. The weekdays saw another decline in numbers, which was expected as is after holidays, but it was quite steep. It will be interesting to see how the film fares in its second weekend, which will give a better idea of where the film will end its lifetime tally and if it will emerge as a profitable venture. Here is a detailed breakdown:

  • Eid Holidays ( Mon- Thur): 8.20 crore
  • Extended Eid Weekend ( Fri- Sun): 5 crore
  • 7 Day Extended Eid Weekend: 13.2 crore
  • Weekdays ( Monday- Thursday): 1.8 crore
  • 11 Day Extended Week 1: 15 crore

Parey Hut Love

Parey Hut Love was another hot favorite this Eid and the film opened with some really good numbers in the first 4 days thanks to a combo of great cast and music coupled with a strong marketing campaign. However, after the festivities ended the film went the same route as Superstar and saw a fall in collections.

How the film fares in the coming days will give a clearer idea of where the film end its run. But given the huge budget of the film, it must keep up the momentum if it is to emerge as a profitable venture for the makers. Here is a detailed breakdown:

  • Eid Holidays ( Mon- Thur): 8.4 crore
  • Extended Eid Weekend ( Fri- Sun): 5 crore
  • 7 Day Extended Eid Weekend: 13.4 crore
  • Weekdays ( Monday- Thursday): 1.6 crore
  • 11 Day Extended Week 1: 15  crore

Heer Maan Ja

Heer Maan Ja also had a solid run in the first few days but the film saw a decline over the weekend, and then another steep fall in the weekdays which is quite alarming. Even though the film attracted its loyal IRK audience it somewhere got lost between the big releases. Though the film has been made on a small budget, it still needs to pick up some pace if it wants to emerge as another success for the banner. Here is a detailed breakdown:

  • Eid Holidays ( Mon- Thur): 3.8 crore
  • Extended Eid Weekend ( Fri- Sun): 1.3 crore
  • 7 Day Extended Eid Weekend: 5.1 crore
  • Weekdays ( Monday- Thursday): 0.68 crore
  • 11 Day Extended Week 1: 5.78 crore

Final Word

Reflecting upon these numbers, one thing is obvious that the films have done decently but they have failed to recreate the magic of last year’s releases. The total 11-day numbers of all three films is about 37 crore which is way less than what was last year. However, there are no major releases lined up for the next couple of days so the films have a chance to make some more money at the box office. Let’s see what the coming days have in store for all the releases.

These box office numbers are given by an independent box office tracking site EPK Pakistan.
