We could see the bad future for Swaarangi when we reported on its first weekend figures, and well, now that foreseen future has become an unfortunate truth. Resham’s comeback film, a film after a long hiatus of eight years, Swaarangi, has gone on a permanent break. All vanished from cinemas.
But not all is bad, as Manto, Swaarangi’s release partner, is going quite strong in cinemas all across the country, and after an increase in number of its shows in result of good public reception, looks to have a promising future. At least for another week, till Jawani Phir Nahi Ani hits cinemas on Friday, 25th September.
So, the update on the numerical standings is that while Swaarangi has left the race at an overall figure of Fifteen Lacs, Manto is still selling tickets and has crossed the two crore mark. Adding more than 1.7 crores between the first weekend and the second, Manto now stands at a figure of 2.52 crores (margin for accuracy).
Following is the day to day break-up:
Days | Collections (PKR) |
First Weekend Total | 0.75 Cr. (7.5 million) |
Second Week: | |
Day 1 (Monday) | 0.17 Cr. |
Day 2 (Tuesday) | 0.20 Cr. |
Day 3 (Wednesday) | 0.22 Cr. |
Day 4 (Thursday) | 0.22 Cr. |
Day 5 (Friday) | 0.21 Cr. |
Day 6 (Saturday) | 0.40 Cr. |
Day 7 (Sunday) | 0.35 Cr. |
Total till second weekend | 2.52 Crores (25.2 million) and still running |
It has been an almost clear run for Manto uptil now, but there comes the release of the biggie Jawani Phir Nahi Ani before its third week ends. So be careful for the next week Manto, and good luck to both the films.
