Hunger for a new male superstar

Poll is now closed, for results click here

Its been more than 10 years; Pakistan film industry hasn’t produced a true new ‘male super star’, the biggest reason is of-course almost no or less production of good quality films. Talking about such a thing two years back maybe was a foolish thing, as there were almost no new films coming up to facilitate the new batch of actors.

But now as a new wave of good quality films is on its way, it surely can be discussed here, so that next time when our directors gear themselves up for their next project they could have this point in mind.

The biggest fear for a film maker is of-course of his/her film being flopped, and that’s the reason why most of the directors hesitate to cast new actors as most of the time they fail to attract audience because of low star value.

Galaxy Lollywood from today is going to conduct a 2-months long poll, so that an estimate can be made that which new face people think is most likely to fill-up the place of actors like Shaan, Moammar Rana, Humayun Saeed and Babar Ali.

As we said earlier, directors don’t pick new actors because of their low star value, here through the poll we will try to create a value for these new faces and not only new actors will be part of the list but those TV and Film actors who have either not been tried in films or have worked very less on big screen instead of their potential to become the next Shaan or Humayun Saeed; are also going to be a part of the list.

All you have to do is to read details about the artists listed below, checkout their pictures if you can’t recognise them by their names and just look at poll on the left bar of website and vote for them. You can vote for any of the two actors listed but you won’t be able to see the collective results of the poll  until 22nd May 2011, whereas poll will be closed exactly on 20th May.

You can also suggest us the names of actors who you think should be part of the list and poll; in article’s comment section below , we will try our best to include them as well.

  1. Voted for Mohib Mirza and Ahsan Khan… I bet Mohib can become the next Akshay Kumar of this subcontinent because of his chracter acting and a different comedy style… but all he need is some projects like Khuda Key liye, where he can truly show his acting skills…
I was bit confuse for my second choice, was stuck between Ahsan Khan-Sami Khan and Imran Abbas but finally went for Ahsan because i think Imran Abbas is not suitable for big screen, I dont know why but still and his project selection is poor and so is his acting skills and the only two positive things for him is that first he is a big crowd puller and second his looks but we neeed acting yaaaaara…, Sami Khan again is weak in acting and unlike Imran Abbas he is not a crowd puller and so finally i had to go for Ahsan Khan..But if Imran Abbas manages to get a position in at least top five, I won’t be surprised because I think many would just vote him for his looks…

  2. Mohib Mirza, Fahad Mustafa and Fawad Afzal. All of them are so stunningly good.

We can also take Imran Abbas n Ali zafar for ploeing.

  3. Mohib Mirza, in every aspect: acting skills, presence, versatility, looks, height, physique, voice, dance skills, wit, humor, spontaneity, intensity. Everything about him is cinematic. His body of work in TV, AD Films, Voice Overs and Festival Films have groomed him enough to BE the new iconic cinema personality of Pakistan. He is already the first Pakistani actor to win an international award for Best Actor at the International Filmmaker’s Festival, Kent UK for the film ‘Inshallah’ in 2009. http://www.filmmakerfestival.com/2009.html. With the support of the Pakistani industry and our people, he can only do wonders in commercial cinema and put Pakistan positively on the map and for the world to take us and our talent seriously!

  4. ok the list is not bad at all, i would say Mohib Mirza, Ahsan Khan and Fawad Khan. Rest are good for small screen. btw i think Mohib, fawad and Ahsan Khan can be infact they should be all-rounder in terms of acting, dialogue delivery and amazing screen appearance.
Hoping to see a great future for Pakistani Cinema 🙂 all the best
