Call it a new trend on the rise or a plain strategic move to add value to a film, nonetheless you cannot deny the fact that having Indian artists in Pakistani films is now becoming really common. With each passing day more and more film-makers are stepping up and hiring foreign actors for their projects. This does not only boost the value quotient of the film but also gives the makers a much required chance to exhibit their respective products in India too.
Previously we broke the news about veteran Indian actress Shabana Azmi’s possible Lollywood debut through the upcoming Pakistani film The Dusk. Now today we are again sharing with you a similar story. This time the Indian export is popular Indian Bhangra singer Diler Singh Mehndi’s son Gurdeep singh, who is not only making his Lollywood debut but infact is making his acting debut, as this is his first film as an actor.
Gurdeep is a singer just like his father, furthermore he holds a graduate degree. The news however is that he has been roped in by Syed Noor as the lead in his next untitled Punjabi flick. Gurdeep will not only be acting in the film but will also get a chance to showcase his singing talent as he will be lending his voice as the playback singer.
Gurdeep has recorded his work for the first shooting spell of the film in Pakistan and will comeback soon for the remaining work.
Before leaving for India, Gurdeep in an interview to the Daily express said, “Music is something that I have inherited, but acting is something that I am doing because of my personal interest. I have decided to step in this professional life after I have successfully graduated. I could have started my career from India as well, but I rather preferred starting it from Pakistan.”
“Syed Noor is famous across the border too and he surely is an amazing director, who is capable of providing quality cinema. I will also record songs for the film and in-fact we have already planned a song which will be sung by Arif Lohar and me” said Gurdeep while further elaborating his job in the film.
Syed Noor on the other hand talked about his selection of Gurdeep for his next project in these words “A very unique topic has been selected for the film and I was literally searching for someone like Gurdeep Singh for the role. The cast has been finalized keeping in mind the demand of the story and I believe Gurdeep’s debut film will be a success in entertaining the people of both countries.”
Although Galaxy Lollywood might not promote this film in the future because of our language policy but still the effort of Syed Noor must be praised, and if we find the film to be of a good quality, we will surely give it more space on our site.
