It’s been 28 years since he left us, but fans of the legendary actor Waheed Murad (SI) still remember him as the most ‘Iconic & Romantic’ actor of Pakistan film Industry.
28th death anniversary of Lollywood’s one and only chocolate hero was commemorated yesterday with solemnity and respect by his fans all over the world.
Waheed started his film career in 1962 with S.M Yousuf directed Aulad and established himself as a lead actor in 1964 super-hit film Heera Aur Pathar. His self-produced 1966 Arman became the first Pakistani Platinum Jubilee film and brought him to the heights of his career.
His unmatched romantic style of acting and killing looks made him widely popular among the South Asian youth of his time and he is said to be the only actor after Dileep Kumar whose hair and dressing style was followed to this extent that it became the hottest fashion of the period in this region.
He died on 23rd November 1983 to a mysterious death and his absence is still widely felt in film industry as no one after him managed to replace him and surely he can never replaced.
