The ongoing war with terror has undeniably affected almost every professional setup in the country. Be it a local food chain or our military and security organisations, almost everyone has been affected in one way or the other. Subjecting this hot topic of ‘War on Terror’ and breaking all stereotypes by portraying the role of National Police Force in a positive frame; veteran Pakistani director Jarrar Rizvi is here with his upcoming flick Son of Pakistan, all set to release this Friday—16th December (Tomorrow).
Finally after the delay of several months, mainly due to some distributing issues, Jarrar Rizvi has announced the final release date and has also initiated the marketing campaign of the film.
This star-studded film starring Babar Ali, Meera, Sana Nawaz, Shamil Khan, Laila, Babrik Shah, Shafqat Cheema, Ghulam Moiuddin and many others including some news faces; is all set to blow your minds away this 16th of December in both Punjab and Sindh.
Talking about the release of the film, Jarrar in an interview to Daily Express said, “We had to face so many troubles before releasing the film, but this time it’s final and that the movie will release on the given date.”
Besides being booked for several cinemas all over Punjab; the film will also be screened at Nishat Bambino and Atrium cinemas in Karachi.
Talking about the story of the film, Jarrar said, “The story is actually based on the topic of nationalism and I chose this topic as I could see our nation being too much divided and so I wanted to play my part in bringing people closer here.” In another interview to Express Tribune, Jarrar said that he made this movie in order to image Pakistani policemen as heroes. “For years, the film industry has promoted gangsters as heroes; we now have to show the world a peace-loving Pakistan, look at Indian films; most of them make the police officer a hero. We have to understand that a hero can only be a person who guards the law, no one else.”
Furthermore, he said, “Just like the story, I have put a real effort on the music of the film too and that I hope people will enjoy it when they’ll come in cinemas to watch the film.”
The release of SOP is surely one last positive thing happening in the local film industry this year. Although many expected the film to just be showed at single screens but proving them wrong is the fact that it is definitely being showed at the multiplexes too. Although the shows are limited , but this is a good start considering that the multiplexes are now ready to bring Pakistani films in their cinemas.
We wish the film best of luck.
