We are in the fifth month of 2014 and not a single Pakistani film has released. However things are soon going to change as two two big films are all set to release in the coming weeks. Tamanna is releasing on the 6th of June , while the first official release of the year “The System” is all set to hit cinemas next Friday i.e the 30th of May. Also, in addition to being the first release of the year, “The System” is also going to be the biggest release ever for a Pakistani film as it is being released on a whooping 59 screens!
“The System” is directed by Shahzad Ghafoor and stars Sheraz Ghufoor and Kashaf Ali in the lead roles. In supporting roles are a plethora of Lollywood veterans such such as Nadeem Baig, Shafqat Cheema, Irfan Koshart, Nayyar Ejaz among others. Made on a mega budget of 6 crores this film has been one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year. Furthermore “The System” is probably the only film in recent times which has had a smooth run from the shooting period up till the release date. There have been no postponements in the release date ( which is common here in Pakistan), the film was shot, sent in post production, had a grand music launch, and now is all set to release.
