We at Galaxy Lollywood have always maintained that for the film industry to prosper, for it to truly reach its maximum potential, the cinema industry must also prosper. Looks like Super Cinema has geared up and taken it upon itself to revolutionize the cinema industry of Pakistan. They started with three screens in Lahore’s “Royal Palm Club”, then moved to the traditional “Lakshmi Chowk” and modernized the “Shabbistan” and “Prince” Cinema and topped it all with opening up a multiplex cinema in the heart of Lahore “Gulberg.” Now after having completely taken over Lahore, Super Cinema is ready to take over Pakistan and the first destination is Sialkot!
Yes! All you Sialkoti’s can rejoice as Super Cinema is now operating in your own city with all the luxurious facilities that Super Cinema is known for! We contacted Super Cinema Editor and Relationship Executive Anam Raheel and tried to get all the scoop on this latest cinema.Talking exclusively to Galaxy Lollywood Anam said :-
“This cinema is located on Cantt Road in Sialkot. It was previously known as “Parwana” and also has a similar one right beside it known as “Shama”. It’s around 40 yrs old and was in a state of complete shutdown for the past 10 years. We have taken it under the umbrella of Super Cinema now and hence its no more known as Parwana.”
We then asked her about the interiors and how that has been updated keeping in mind that its now a Super Cinema!
“Well Momin we have refurbished it completely.The seats have been replaced to the new red recliners which we have been using in all our other cinemas. Also the bathrooms have been completely renovated. There are separate entrances for the hall, gallery and even boxes. The stair walkways are lit up. The doors have paddings with shiny silver handles. The walls are a nice bright orange. There are food counters on 2 floors. The upper one has coffee tables and chairs to sit and eat as this is the food court area. The main ground one serves cinema food; popcorn and drinks.”
We then asked her about the cinema experience. What is the seating capacity? How is the audio The visuals?
Anam revealed ” Well this is the 9th screen we’ve opened up so we have kept it at par with all the other screens. The difference between this and our other cinemas is that this is a one screen cinema with a seating of about 600 while our other cinemas are all multi screen. But let me mention that this is the first 3D cinema in Sialkot. The screen and projector is once again state-of-the-art, the technology used there has so far been used in three of our cinemas. It is surely an audio visual feast. The enhanced 3D visuals with leading edge display technology of Christie 3D digital images make it a worthwhile experience.”
The cinema was officially opened on Thursday with a show of the film “Entertainment.” The red carpet saw some famous faces like Syed Noor, Atif Aslam, Shehzad Rafique, Asim Mehmood. The event was hosted by the brand ambassador of Super Cinema Ayesha Sana. Here are a few pictures from the event.
