Not many would disagree here; ever since Fawad Khan has blown a new life to our television screens, we have all been dreaming of him to be seen on the big screen, more so in the present day because the new Pakistani cinema has finally taken its long desired flight.
But Fawad couldn’t fulfil this desire of yours with a Pakistani film, as the local film industry till very recently, honestly, didn’t really have much to offer. So he went for the next best option, and experimented himself with Bollywood.
Fawad has now recently done Disney India’s RomCom, Khoobsurat, starring opposite to Sonam Kapoor, and has already earned quite a following across the border since his hit Pakistani serial, Zindagi Gulzar Hai, also very aptly concluded its debut run in India, which; let it be mentioned here, was a mega hit on Indian TV.
Not entirely done with Khoobsurat’s promotional engagements in India, Fawad, very reluctantly, in a recent interview revealed that in his post-Khoobsurat schedule, there are at least three Pakistani films he would be shooting for, but said he couldn’t talk about them much since they are still in their ‘initial stages.’
“I am just praying that everything turns out well,” he said commenting on the films very briefly.
It is worth mentioning here that Fawad almost concurrently signed a Pakistani film when he signed Khoobsurat in India. That untitled Pakistani project is said to be a Sultana Siddiqui direction, with a rumour of Sajal Ali being cast opposite to Fawad. The project is nowhere in the news these days but with a wild guess, it maybe one of the three projects under discussion.
Well, with Ali Zafar too working on a comedy flick of his own in Pakistan these days, it seems like all the flown-away birdies are finally coming back to the home tree, and testing this renaissance of a new film industry that seems to have started taking its roots with a good aim to stay for a long long time hopefully.
We loved Fawad in Khuda Kay Liye, we loved him in all that he has done on TV, and we wish him all the best for his future ventures, may they be from this side of the border or that other one.
Ali Zafar was the sizzling factor in the old days that swept into Bollywood, but after many B-films his popularity never surfaced, he depended on his looks & mediocre acting talents and after ignoring his home film industry he is now crawling back to the home base. Fawad Khan on the other hand made is mark in Pakistani films then went to Bollywood. But then he is far more talented than Ali Zafar & in India he is now a rising heart throb. Ali Zafar grabbed all the films handed to him he never played a challenging role but then agin he did not have the talent to match.
