ICYMI, two of the highly anticipated movies, ‘Project Ghazi’ and ‘Rangreza’, have gotten confirmed release dates. The movies are coming out later this summer and fall, respectively.
Project Ghazi
‘Project Ghazi’ is the first movie to hit cinemas after Eid-ul-Fitr releases ‘Mehrunisa V Lub U’ and ‘Yalghaar’. The film is lined up to release three weeks after Eid on 14 July, 2017.
It is speculated that the film may share screens with Eid releases (provided those films run that long). While another movie, Syed Noor’s directorial comeback ‘Chein Aye Na’, has also been scheduled for the same month and coming out a week after ‘Project Ghazi’ on 21 July. This makes July quite jam-packed, with four to five Pakistani movies running and filling the void of local content in the cinemas.
‘Project Ghazi’ is Pakistan’s first live-action super-hero flick. It is made using state-of-the-art technology and VFX experts from abroad helped in its visual effects. Produced by Ali Raza and directed by Nadir Shah, the film’s cast includes Humayun Saeed, Sheheryar Munawar, Syra Sheroz, Adnan Jaffar, Talat Hussain and Aamir Qureshi.

Rangreza
Its quite uncommon for a Pakistani movie to get ‘confirmed’ release date more than two to three months ahead of its release (except if it is scheduled for an Eid). But, ‘Rangreza’ sets a kind-of-record of announcing release date almost half a year in advance. The film is slated to release on Dec 21, 2017.
‘Rangreza’ is a musical-romantic film and its story revolves around a Qawaal family. The film has extremely fascinating cast, comprised of Gohar Rasheed, Urwa Hocane and Bilal Ashraf. Produced under the banner of Vision Art Films, the film is produced by Yasir Mohiuddin and Usman Malkani and directed by Amir Mohiuddin.
A very short but tempting first-look teaser of ‘Rangreza’ hit the cyberspace a week ago. It features dreamy Bilal Ashraf, reflective Urwa Hocane and demented Gohar Rasheed, with background soulful kalaam by legendary Abida Parveen. The teaser does not reveal much about the movie and leaves us longing for more.
