Hot as blazes and a powerhouse of talent, Fawad Khan is a complete package. Be it singing or acting, this man wins hearts across all spheres. And hearts he will be winning in February next year, as the star will sing the official anthem for the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Produced by Shuja Haider, the track will also have some rap tarka in it by the rapper, ‘Young Desi.’ The rapper is popularly known for his performance in Coke Studio 11’s “Rap Hai Saara.’ PSL 4 commences on February 14, 2019, and we can’t wait for the song to come out! Khan, however, will not be seen as the brand ambassador of Islamabad United this year.
Why not Ali Zafar?
Interestingly, all the anthems of the previous editions of the league were sung by Ali Zafar. While Ali did a great job, PCB’s decision to choose Fawad Khan this time will definitely bring a vibrant palette and a much-needed change for the audiences.
It is possible that the sexual harassment allegations levied against Zafar by fellow singer/actor Meesha Shafi, became the reason for his replacement.
Fawad and Singing
It’s a sin if you are unaware of Fawad’s singing past. Khan was the lead vocalist of a music band Entity Paradigm, popularly known as ‘EP.’ Formed in the year 2000, EP was disbanded in 2007 as the members committed themselves to different projects and careers. Resultantly, we got the most bankable star of Pakistan, Fawad Khan.
Fawad’s platter in 2019
Besides the singing assignment, the actor stars in Bilal Lashari’s much awaited, The Legend of Maula Jatt, scheduled to release on Eid-ul-Fitr, 2019. Therefore, expect Fawad to be promoting the film on the PSL stage, just like Ali Zafar did last year when Teefa In Trouble was about to hit cinemas. He is also said to have an important cameo in Asim Raza’s ‘Paray Hut Love.’
We are really excited about this development and believe that like all things else, Fawad will successfully be able to pull this one off too.
