The first teaser of ‘The Legend Of Maula Jatt’ is out and shit just got real!

The legend of Maula Jatt teaser

So after a wait of what seems like ages, we were finally treated to the first official footage of the upcoming masterpiece, ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt,‘ and it goes without saying that ‘minds were blown!’

The two minute and twenty-two-second teaser gave us the first look into the world that has been created by Bilal Lashari and going by what we saw, it came across as a fantasy period drama, something that is quite contrary to the contemporary settings of the original Maula Jatt.

If we would have to put it one short phrase, The Legend of Maula Jatt was “Gladiator in medieval Punjab.”

Director Bilal Lashari; whose strengths include perfection in cinematography and editing, has yet again cemented his status by giving us the visual treat that was the first look trailer of his take on Maula Jatt. Boy, he knows how to cut a trailer/teaser. The epic shots simply made us fall in love with the director’s work once again.

The teaser also introduced us to the main characters of the film and just as we had heard in countless interviews, the looks were definitely something! From Hamza’s grungy Noori Nath to Humaima Malik’s seductive Daaro Nathni, it all looked on point.

A Different Maula Jatt

It is interesting how the makers have used the characters of Maula Jatt and put them in a completely different setting with no trace of the original visible. The makers were definitely not kidding when they said that the film was neither a sequel or a remake, but a completely new story.

From the looks of the teaser, the film will definitely be a milestone moment for the Pakistani Entertainment Industry; a Waar 2.0 if we may say, and will help put Pakistan film industry on the world map.

We are super excited and cannot wait to see more footage from the most expensive film to come out of Pakistan, which, by the way, will hit cinemas on Eid-ul-Fitr 2019.
