Rumors about the fate of Wajahat Rauf’s next, ‘Karachi Se Lahore 3 (KSL 3),’ have been abuzz for quite some time now amongst industry insiders.  Announced with much fanfare in August 2018, the film was to be the third one in the franchise and was going to release this year on Eid-ul-Fitr.

We had also exclusively revealed the cast which was an interesting mix of some faces from the previous parts as well as exciting new additions to the franchise.

However, when Wajahat started working on his web-series and no update was heard from the film after Farhan Saeed joined and dropped out of the film, there seemed to be something brewing behind the scenes.

We contacted Wajahat Rauf to know the story and he revealed that yes, Karachi Se Lahore 3, is, in fact, on hold right now as he is working on another film which he feels is more relevant to the current situation. What exactly that is, he did not reveal and guess we will have to wait for an announcement.

About the Mystery Project

Wajahat, however, did reveal that this mystery project will be released on Eid-ul-Fitr 2019, the date which he had earlier announced for his film KSL 3. This is particularly interesting because of the short window for the director to shoot and edit his film, but then Humayun Saeed and team are also working on a similar schedule. Humayun’s film goes on floor in February with an Eid-ul-Azha release date.

We are definitely waiting to see what Wajaht comes out with next and also cannot wait for him to return to the KSL franchise so that we get another hilarious road comedy.

Also, the web show that Wajahat has been working on with Mehwish Hayat, Azfar Rehman, and Asad Siddiqui will be releasing sometime soon, and the promotions are all set to begin this month.
