Cheer up Gohar Rasheed, Kubra Khan, and Bilal Abbas fans as all three of your heartthrobs are coming together for a telefilm named ‘Laal.’ Slated to hit our TV screens on 23rd March 2019, the telefilm revolves around the lives of the brave men and women of Pakistan Navy.
To know more about the telefilm, we talked to actors Gohar Rasheed and Bilal Abbas Khan, and this is what we have on what is apparently going to be a high-budgeted telefilm, that most likely has the involvement of the naval wing of ISPR (Inter-Services Public Relations) in one role or the other.
About Laal
Laal is a high-profile patriotic drama that is being directed by Haseeb Hassan while the legendary Umera Ahmed pens its script. Haseeb, before this, also gave us Parwaaz Hai Junoon last year. Set on Pakistan Navy, the telefilm will be produced under the banner of Group M and Hamdan Films.
Bilal Says
When we approached Bilal for his comment on the telefilm and his role in it, this is what he had to say:
“I’m playing Behram, who is a sophisticated, patriotic guy with a dream to serve in the navy and will do anything for his country. He becomes a naval officer, and there’s a powerful connection to the stone ‘laal’ and the message this telefilm has.”
“I’m also very excited for this because it’s a tribute to Pakistan Navy, and I honestly couldn’t be more proud of what we’re trying to make here,” Bilal further added.
Talking about the cast of the film, Bilal said, “I’m really excited to be working with such talented actors of our industry, really looking forward to this.”
Gohar Says
Talking to Galaxy Lollywood about the film, actor Gohar Rasheed said, “Laal is a story about emotions and sentiments. It is a very patriotic drama with multiple layers to all the characters and the story. All three of us will be in never-before-seen avatars in this project. It’s a story about valour, sacrifice, and simple life choices that have huge impacts,”
Well-known for his rather unconventional roles, Gohar will be playing a Baloch in this telefilm project.“My character’s name is Yousuf, who I would say is an anti-hero, but can’t reveal much about him at this moment. I am currently in the process of learning the Balochi dialect in preparation for the role.”
More About Laal
Besides Gohar, Kubra, and Bilal Abbas, the telefilm will also have great actors like Saleem Mairaj, Adnan Jaffar, and Rashid Naz in prominent roles.
Shooting for Laal will take place in Gwadar very soon, and if you are wondering which channel would you be able to catch it on on 23rd March, the answer is all. Yes, just like your new Coke Studio season runs on all channels, you would be able to catch Laal on most entertainment channels too.
It goes without saying that we are already excited about these amazing actors coming together with a great writer-director duo for a subject like Pakistan Navy. Our best wishes for team Laal.
