Literally (well I know I am not using the term correctly here but hello, what I am about to tell you totally justifies using it) all of us know about Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir’s adorable relationship. They have been all over our TV screens and social media, for the past many many months. Be it Mama Mir’s Instagram account or the actors’ own, the two are everywhere (and honestly, we are not complaining).
Some background on their relationship
Sajal and Ahad became everyone’s favorites as Asfi and Zubia after their blockbuster drama Yaqeen Ka Safar was aired on our televisions.
Last year in August, in an interview with BBC Asian Network, Ahad addressed the speculations regarding his relationship with Sajal Aly. While he did not deny or accept the possibility of a relationship between the two, he had the following to say: “I’ve met Sajal at a really good time in my life. She knows me for who I am, which I think is a beautiful thing. I’ve loved working with her. Apart from that, she’s a very special individual. I think we’re both huge supporters of each other. My family is a big supporter of her. We love her, we love her work. She’s a fantastic person.”
And honestly, this was enough for us, hopeless romantics, to keep going.
Here is the real deal
Having said that, turns out the couple got married last night in an intimate gathering in Canada, as per our internal sources, close to the family. I KNOW, I KNOW! I AM EQUALLY EXCITED AND AWE-STRUCK!
According to our sources, only a handful of people were invited to the ceremony, including the couple’s close friends and family. The wedding took place in Toronto and it was, what we usually call an intimate affair. While we do not have many details about the ceremony itself, I think we can make our peace with the fact that one of our favorite couples – on and off-screen – has finally tied the knot.
It is also being said that the reason the two wanted to keep their wedding hush-hush is because they wanted to have it just for themselves and not for the public (and again, we are not complaining. To each their own, I guess).
We are currently in touch with our sources and we’ll update you as soon as we find out more details. For now, we just know that Sajal did not dress up as a quintessential red-dress bride for she opted for a rather subtle look, with even subtler colors.
