Acclaimed sitcom director and comedian, Faisal Qureshi has managed to stage one of the biggest casting coups of the decade which will continue to make news for some time to come. The Ulta Seedha director has managed to cast the country’s numero-uno leading man, Fawad Khan, cricket legend Wasim Akram and the debonair Mikaal Zulfiqar – all in one film, which will also be his directorial debut, titled Money Back Guarantee.

Casting all the A-listers

Fawad is known to be very selective about the projects he chooses and until now did not have an upcoming feature film since he wrapped up filming for The Legend of Maula Jatt. Meanwhile, Wasim Akram has always been fancied by filmmakers internationally – Mahesh Bhatt from across the border even offered Wasim a film in 2004, according to reports. Since Wasim has finally given his nod to this particular project, it must be quite special!

Meanwhile, Mikaal too has always been on top of Faisal’s list as their professional relationship goes a long way, when both collaborated in the hilarious Ufone adverts. Mikaal and Fawad interestingly have also previously shared screen space in Haissam Hassan’s Kuch Pyar ka Pagalpan. Mikaal had also revealed in a candid moment on Tonite with HSY that he had auditioned for Fawad’s part in Ae Dil Hai Muhskil, and now it would be interesting to see how these two stars share presence on celluloid in one mega-project.

Also reported to be on-board is Pinky Memsaab’s Kiran Malik, who has supposedly been roped to play a pivotal character in the venture. Kiran is going to be seen as the female lead in upcoming action-thriller Zarrar opposite megastar Shaan Shahid. Other actors who are said to be part of this project are Afzal Khan (Jan Rambo) and Gohar Rasheed.

Cameos Galore

Riding high on her recent film Superstar’s success, Mahira Khan has been approached for an extended cameo. Previously, her special appearances in films like Actor in Law and Parey Hut Love have been loved by the cine-goers. With massive fan-following of the Mahira-Fawad on-screen pair, this cameo will be the icing on the cake.

Wasim Akram’s wife Shaneira has also been locked for a guest role in the film, possibly with Wasim, making the film their big-screen debut together.

Starts shooting next month

Money Back Guarantee will be a comic-caper, with the script of the film having been penned by Faisal himself. In addition to all the luminaries mentioned here, he will also be acting in the film. As far as the film’s plot is concerned, we know so far that a bank robbery is involved in addition to the film’s comic elements. The film’s production unit will start shooting in November, in Karachi, with set construction underway. The second spell of the film will be shot in Thailand. The film is co-produced by Zashko Entertainment, who were previously involved with Na Band Na Baraati.
