Over the years, Sheheryar Munawar is one star who has developed the image and persona of one of Pakistan’s most eligible bachelors. When news of Sheheryar getting engaged broke at the beginning of this year, it caused much sensation, as well as a lot of heart-break for the Ho Mann Jahaan‘s star fan following.
Following his debut in Mere Dard Ko Jo Zubaan Mile in 2012, the handsome young actor had been in the list of most sought after stars in the country. However, somewhat unconventionally, he had quietly gotten engaged in a private ceremony in Karachi without any fanfare or media attention. The interest in his fiancée, who did not belong to the industry, was genuine. However, following the event a complete silence from Sheheryar and his fiancée addressing their new relationship gave rise to speculations that the engagement, which had happened quietly and rather all of a sudden, had ended in a similar fashion.
Now, after months of hush-hush speculations within the industry and by the hoi polloi, Sheheryar Munawar has finally broken his silence and officially declared himself to be single, again.
The big reveal
In a recent interview with The Current PK, Sheheryar hinted at regaining his bachelor status in response to one of the questions asked. When queried about what was the most daring thing that he has ever done, the Parey Hut Love star replied that it was telling his mother that he wants to choose the girl that he wishes to marry.
“The most daring thing that I’ve done is telling my mother that once I tried on your call, and you yourself ended it but this time, I’ll choose the girl I want to get married to.”
Sheheryar did not divulge any more details and changed the topic with a cheeky repartee “Smart people will be able to take the cue.”
Many tried reading the signs
To those who had followed the long promotions of Sheheryar’s film Parey Hut Love, this news will probably not come as a surprise. In some of the actor’s many Instagram live sessions during the promotional period, questions pertaining to his marriage were asked quite a few times by his fans. And Sheheryar’s straight-forward response was that he has no plans to marry any time soon which only fueled speculation that he was no longer committed to anyone.
There was a brief period when Sheheryar was following his now ex-fiancée on Instagram but a quick search shows that the two of them no longer follow each other. This fact alongside the complete absence of any mention about his relationship status in the months between the engagement announcement until now was nothing short of the deafening silence that set the rumor mill in frenzy.
