When our favorite performers appear on the screen, we might think that that is the only thing they are good at. However, a lot of Pakistani celebrities also run business concerns in the designing and styling world which are quite different from their showbiz careers. Though most of us already know about some actors, models or singers who have their own apparel lines or brands, such as Aijaz Aslam with Aijazz and Junaid Jamshed’s J., there are a lot of other stars as well who moonlight as successful entrepreneurs. Here, we take a look at some of the recent ones…
Nadia Hussain
Nadia Hussain is a household name in the world of modeling. What many people don’t know is that she also runs her own salon named ‘Nadia Hussain Bridal Salon and Clinic’, located in the Clifton area of Karachi. The successful model is also well versed in advanced grooming techniques for women and she also learned how to perform certain cosmetic procedures. Nadia also launched her own cosmetic brand recently. Nadia believes that Pakistani models should broaden their horizons and try their luck at different businesses.
Urwa Hocane and Mawra Hocane
The Hocane sisters have managed to achieve quite a bit as performance artistes, and the two have quite a massive social media presence. In the near future, their online following is only expected to increase as they have launched their own clothing line, ‘UxM’, which stands for ‘Urwa x Mawra’, of course. The brand, which has its own tagline ‘girls who can’, is described to be a fusion of eastern and western aesthetics. According to Urwa and Mawra, they are especially focusing on those girls who dare to live on their own terms while keeping in sync with the environment around them.
Komal Aziz Khan
Komal Aziz Khan might be a newcomer in the industry, but that didn’t stop her from launching her own clothing line called ‘Omal by Komal.’ Komal has stated that besides acting, she is quite fond of fashion as well. With her brand, the Bharosa Pyar Tera starlet wants people to afford and wear high-quality clothes that combine eastern and western influences.
Mikaal Zulfiqar
Given his keen sense of fashion, it should come as no surprise that Mikaal Zulfiqar, who happens to be one of the most well-dressed celebrities of our entertainment fraternity, has launched his own salon as well. Called ‘Headlines’, the salon was launched on October 27. Mikaal aims to cater to a primarily male clientele.
Aiman Khan and Minal Khan
Following in the footsteps of Urwa and Mawra Hocane, twin sisters Aiman and Minal Khan too are entering the fashion world after making a name for themselves as actors. Named after the first initials of their own names, A&M, their brand promises to deliver well-produced clothing at an affordable price.

Final word
If there is one thing that our stars have proved over the course of time, it is that they are not afraid to move beyond their comfort zones. Most of us lack the motivation to try out something different but Pakistani entertainment’s finest have shown us the way by channeling their inner entrepreneurs.
