The year 2020 hasn’t been very kind. The pandemic situation forced people around the world to adjust to a completely isolated lifestyle almost overnight. Add to it several other tragedies that happened this year, and it is safe to say that 2020 was not quite the start of a new decade that one wished it to be.

However, life goes on. And this was proven by many of our own dear celebrities who did not let the lockdown situation dither them from starting a new chapter of their lives. Giving their fans little reasons to find happiness as well as practically proving that weddings are not all about the grandeur and the glory, these celebrity weddings have definitely been the happy highlights of 2020.

Here is a chronological list of all the celebrity weddings that have happened in 2020 (so far)!

Sajal Aly & Ahad Raza Mir

14^th March 2020. Sajal and Ahad kicked off the wedding season when they tied the knot in a private ceremony in Zaya Nurai Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The couple chose to keep the affair short, minimal, and classy. Both Sajal and Ahad looked completely in love on their wedding day. This usually private couple shared pictures from the wedding festivities with their fans all around the world that took the social media by storm.

Manzar Sehbai & Samina Ahmed

4^th April 2020. Manzar and Samina’s wedding was special not just because it was two celebrities getting married. It was special because they got hitched at the age where society wants people to basically stop living their lives as they wish because they are “old”. But this union proved that love has no age limit and if two people want to solidify their relationship with the bond of marriage, they are very much free to do so regardless of how “old” the society perceives them to be. Not much was revealed about their wedding except that it was an intimate affair.

Aagha Ali & Hina Altaf

22^nd May 2020. Actors Aagha Ali & Hina Altaf revealed that they hated each other when they first met. However, when they met again, they became best friends and the journey eventually led to them getting married. The couple surprised their fans by confirming their rumored relationship by dropping their nikah pictures. Their wedding ceremony was intimate with just ‘a bunch of our dear ones’, as Aagha wrote on Instagram.

Faryal Mehmood & Daniyal Raheal

28^th May 2020. Only a week had passed to Aagha & Hina’s wedding when netizens were informed of another celebrity wedding, of Faryal Mehmood & Daniyal Raheal.  The talented pair of actors got married in an intimate nikah ceremony with just their family in attendance.

Sadaf Kanwal & Shahroz Sabzwari

31st May 2020. The news of Sadaf & Shahroz having tied the knot first made rounds when some eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that Sadaf had changed her name to Sadaf Sabzwari on Instagram. Although the couple officially disclosed their relationship status at the end of May, speculations that their nikah had happened in April were fuelled by a Snapchat update by Sadaf on 31st May that tagged the date of the nikah picture as being a month old. Either way, this couple tied the knot in a private and intimate ceremony.

Haroon Rashid & Farwa Hussain

29^th June 2020. Continuing the tradition of getting married during the lockdown was everyone’s favorite Mehbooba singer, Haroon Rashid. Talking about his marriage to Farwa Hussain, the singer said that they had been planning to do a big shaadi function in August, but due to the pandemic situation, they opted for a simple nikah.

Sarah Khan and Falak Shabir  

16^th July 2020. Sarah Khan took the internet by storm when she announced her engagement with singer Falak Shabbir. The singer had apparently proposed to Sarah on her birthday. What followed was a week of grand wedding festivities including mayun, mehendi, and nikah/reception. All the events seemed like something straight out of a fairytale.

Aamina Sheikh & Omar Farooqui

8^th August 2020. The Cake actress took to social media to announce her wedding to Omar Farooqui, a Dubai based businessman. She first posted simple pictures of her wedding rings before posting pictures of her husband and her daughter, Meissa. Her husband Omar Farooqui is an entrepreneur and the founder of Code Minds Global.

Sana Javed & Umair Jaswal

20^th October 2020. The latest celebrity couple to tie the knot is of actress Sana Javed and singer Umair Jaswal. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony, attended by Sana and Umair’s families and close friends. Some fans had already been speculating about their marriage as they had been spotted at a few events together. Turns out the two had been engaged, with the blessings of their respective parents, for two years now but kept their relationship private and lowkey and chose to announce it with their wedding announcement.
