Red Carpet
It began with a star-filled red carpet with masses of fans gathered to see their favourite celebrities and take pictures with them. The red carpet also had a donation drive for Pakistan’s flood-affected areas where attendees could simply donate by scanning a particular QR code on their phones.
Hosting
The evening began with an audience of over 12,000 rising for Pakistani and Canadian national anthems, following a hilarious opening act by actors Ali Rehman Khan and Yasir Hussain. This was followed by the President of HUM TV Network, Sultana Siddiqui and CEO Duraid Qureshi, coming on stage and talking about the network’s consistent efforts towards organizing an event of this scale internationally and how it helps improve Pakistan’s global image.
The entertainment continued with the hosting of Ahsan Khan, Hareem Farooq, Ushna Shah, Bilal Ashraf and Aymen Saleem. Also, in between, Ahmed Ali Butt’s hysterical comical segment left the audience in fits.
