Shaan Shahid is in Abu Dhabi these days attending International Showbiz Expo as a keynote speaker and look what a great start he took there by giving an interview to Gulf News in which he compared Shah Rukh Khan’s Diwali release, Happy New Year, with an American comedy heist film, Oceans 12.
“Happy New Year is what — Oceans 12? Let’s be honest. They have to realize that they don’t have any scripts anymore, whatever scripts they have — it starts to become an art film,”
He was just not critical of King Khan’s film but he sent a goodwill message to two ace stars of Bollywood and invited them to make films in Pakistan.
“We actors don’t have to win votes, so we don’t have to belittle each other. Actors can still be friends. We can still make good films and go beyond boundaries. That will only happen if major stakeholders like Shah Rukh or Aamir will shoot a film in Pakistan”
The actor of more than 500 films is known as an ardent supporter of reviving cinema culture in Pakistan through locally made films and his recent release Operation 021 is continuing a successful journey of release across the country.
Shaan has been critical of Pakistani actors working in India for non-substantial roles. On the other hand, ironically, his forthcoming home production, Arth 2, is remake of a popular Indian film Arth.
