The peppy Rubina of Zinda Bhaag, model turned actor Amna Ilyas, is back again with yet another interesting but this time a far more powerful character in what looks like another marvel of Sabiha Sumar after her award winning and highly praised film, Khamosh Pani (2003).
Having already collected a good name for itself in film festivals abroad, Good Morning Karachi (previously titled; Rafina), is all set to finally release in Pakistan January next year.
Not far away from the date today, the January announcement was made by Farhan Ali Agha in his recent interview to HIP, where he talked about the film and his expectations from the project and said that the “film will hopefully be releasing in Pakistan on 1st January.”
Starring Amna Ilyas in the lead role, the fashion based film also has Saba Hameed, Aamina Sheikh, Farhan Ali Agha, Savera Nadeem and Khalid Malik among others in significant roles.
Amna Ilyas, as Rafina in the film, portrays a girl from the lower middle class of Karachi, who aspires to be seen on billboards and walking on ramps; and how she ascends on the social ladder in a world that has a proven tendency to be both jealous and cruel, will be the central subject of the film. There are people with varying visions, people with varying desires and also those who simply wish to live a better life.
So all in all, an interesting film to look forward to, and a lot of good performances expected.
We wish team Good Morning Karachi a best of luck for the film’s release.
