Pakistan film industry will soon enter into a new era: Javed Sheikh

Javed Sheikh like anyone else seems very optimistic about the future of Pakistan Film Industry and said “the industry will soon enter into a new era”.

Javed said the success of his film “Ye Dil Aap Ka Hua” gave local industry a new life and very similarly he said the recent wave of good quality big films will once again not only give a new life to the industry but will also pave its path for the promised revival.

“Despite the growing population of satellite channels, film is still the most popular source of entertainment”, he said.

Javed Sheikh said “cinema goers and fans still love to watch movies in cinemas but the thing is that we unfortunately don’t have anything to show them off”.

This point of Javed can also be justified by the fact that people still go to cinamas but watch Indian and English films because they find quality there. Thats what a director or a film-maker needs to understand that less number of cinemas is not the reason for the slump in the industry, but actually the reason lies in the quality of the films that are being produced locally.

But this thing will no longer be able to take its breath in the industry as people like Shoaib Mansoor, Reema, Faisal Bukhari, Shamoon Abbasi and many others are trying hard to revive the industry by making something out of the box which people would surely like.

“Sheikh said the unfortunate thing is that we don’t have any solid future plan for the people of industry to follow”, but still he predicts a great future for the industry.

He said “Karachi is slowly and gradually becoming the hub of film-making and now finding a sponsor for a new film or drama here has become quite an easy job, as many of the corporations are now taking interest in investing their money in this potentially sound and vast business of film or drama making”.

Talking about his new film, he said, “I am done with the preparation for my new film and now it will be on it’s sets very soon”, its worth mentioning here that Javed in his next film is going to launch his son Shehzad Sheikh in the industry, who is currently famous for his role of ‘Mickey’ in Aag TV’s drama serial Dreamers.
