Sixth death anniversary of comedy legend ‘Rangeela’ observed

The Sixth death anniversary of Saeed Khan, popularly known as Rangeela commemorated on Tuesday by his fans all over the world. He was given the title of ‘king of comedy.
Rangeela was born in 1937 in Nangarhar, Afghanistan, but moved to Lahore at a young age and earned his livelihood by painting billboards for the Lahore movie industry, reported a private news channel.
He began his film career in 1957 when director Anwar Kamal Pasha, amused by his gestures and postures, starred him in a movie as a comedian.
Rangeela made his professional cinematic debut in a 1958 Punjabi film called ‘Jatti’, directed by M.J. Rana.’Diya Aur Toofan’ was his directorial debut.
Rangeela was also a body-builder and a boxer before he joined the film industry. Ahead of acting, Rangeela was also a director, poet, filmmaker,musician and singer. He had five sons and six daughters from three marriages.
Rangeela died in Lahore due to liver faliure after a protracted illness. He was 68.
