Ever since the mega success of HUM TV’s Ramzan special ‘Suno Chanda’ in 2018 and its successor ‘Suno Chanda 2’ in 2019, Ramzan plays seem to have gained more interest from the audiences. Banking on its success, HUM TV last year was coming back with another Ramzan special ‘Chupke Chupke’ starring Ayeza Khan and Osman Khalid Butt. However, due to the corona situation, the shooting got delayed and the project couldn’t make it to the screens on time and will now go on air in Ramzan 2021.
Interestingly, this will not be the only Ramzan play to go on air this year as there is another promising project in the pipeline starring Danyal Zafar and Alizeh Shah. Yes, you read that right. Ali Zafar’s younger brother Danyal Zafar is all set to make his acting debut where he will share the screen with talented actress Alizeh Shah.
It is worth mentioning here that Danyal was initially supposed to be launched by Yash Raj Films in India but due to the political tension between the two countries this couldn’t materialise. Danyal has been active on the music front where he has released quite a few hit singles. But with this project, he is set to step into the acting world, following the footsteps of his elder brother.
The yet to be titled Ramzan show is a Momina Duraid production, directed by Saifee Hassan and produced by Umer Mukhtar. The play is pegged as a lighthearted drama, just like Hum TV’s usual Ramazan special affairs, and also stars Javeria Abbasi, Aamir Qureshi, and Komal Rizvi. Shooting for the show has already begun and will go on air in April with the beginning of Ramzan. Stay tuned to Galaxy Lollywood for more updates.
