Pakistan’s most awaited film of the year and Shoaib Mansoor’s second directorial venture Bol is lastly in cinemas now.
After playing with the patience of people, Bol is finally released in almost twenty big and small cinemas all across Pakistan. The cinema authorities have also welcomed the film wholeheartedly and have given it most number of shows against all other foreign films. This truly shows that cinema owners are ready to play their part in revival of local film industry but it’s basically the film-makers not sincerely playing their part by making good quality films to attract more and more families towards the cinema houses.
Bol starring Humaima Malick, Manzar Sehbai, Atif Aslam, Mahira Khan and Iman Ali in lead cast managed to attract a huge crowd on its first release day and almost all shows were booked in advanced. And even the shows for next two to three days are also mostly booked in some of the country’s big cinemas. Such a great response to a Pakistani movie is something that we haven’t really seen in a decade and of-course Shoaib Mansoor and his marketing team for the film (Geo Films) deserves a big appreciation for that.
The audience reviews and movie’s overall cinema standings will get more clear in coming days but the response we have so far received is mostly positive and we hope it will remain same in future too. In order to officially collect the audience reviews on the movie, a voting system will start from today on website’s “Movie Voting” section. This won’t only help us to get the overall public response towards the movie but the official review by Galaxy Lollywood on Bol will also be mostly based on it. And we request you are all to actively participate in this activity as your presence and opinion is all what we require there.
One last thing that we think must be discussed here and should be stopped immediately are the latest messages roaming after the first premier of the film Bol. The messages are basically about the main theme of the movie describing the core story of the film and basically discouraging people to go and watch the movie in cinemas. This is really something not good for the industry, we request all of you to stop circulating such messages and instead of wasting time in these activities, go and watch the film yourself and only then comment on any aspect of it. How many of you have ever seen such a thing happening with any other foreign film, why we all are trying to destroy our own entertainment industry. This basically proves a saying about Pakistani people right, that “we are our own enemies”. So please stop doing such things and start supporting the efforts of people trying to bring the golden era of our film industry back.
you are damn right, we are our own enemy, we can watch and appreciate meaningless and stereotyped bollywood and some hollywood movies but don’t dare to watch and appreciate our own “product”.
Our society is full of hypocrites and that is why nobody comes forward and try to change it.
Anyway, SHOMAN has taken this step and I appreciate and support him for his efforts as I loved his last movie KKL and gonna watch this movie definitely.
I think other Media networks should take initiative and support new film makers in producing some quality movies which can change our people’s mindset, who take pleasure in sending/forwarding emails without checking the content of it.
We should at least appreciate SHOMAN, who’s spent his money to provide entertainment to our people and these messages could hurt his efforts.
PEACE
