Shehzad Rafique in search of a new face

Previously we reported here on Galaxy Lollywood that famous Pakistani film director Shehzad Rafique has not only announced a new film named Ishq Khuda, but is also in talks with Shaan and Reema to play leads in it.

Though the desire of Shehzad to bring this all time favourite pair back on silver screen after almost eight years; failed due to the ongoing showbiz activities of Reema, but the good news is that Shaan is still there in the film and the director is now searching for a fresh female face to be cast against Shaan in the movie.

It’s also worth mentioning here that some of our inside sources also informed us that after the excuse of Reema for the film, Rafique went straight to the hot Veena Malik for the role, but as she was also busy in some of her Bollywood projects, she declined the offer too. And now according to a news report, Shehzad is currently auditioning some new faces and will hopefully select one soon.

Apart from that, all other pre-production work for the film has almost been wrapped up and the shooting will hopefully start after this Eid-ul-Fitr. The movie story is actually based upon the topic of Sufism and thus we can expect something fresh coming in our cinemas soon. Talking about the story, Shehzad in an interview to a news agency said, “Sufism is a very strong and positive reality of this region and I think its a very deep topic to make a movie on, and thus its going to be the topic of my next film which I have named Ishq Khuda.”

Besides this, it has also been confirmed that famous Pakistani folk singer Shazia Manzoor and our very own Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will also be there in the film to add more magic to it. Shazia according to a report has got five solo tracks while she will also be doing two duet songs with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

It will be interesting to see Shazia Manzoor back in movies after a long time as she last sung for a film almost eleven years back and then left singing for films because of the vulnerable state of the industry.

Talking about her, director Shehzad Rafique said, “Shazia holds a very high position in the music industry of our country, and I always had and still have respect and love for her work and in fact if she would have been singing for films at the time of Muhabbatan Sachiyan, then I would have surely gone for her instead of the Indian singer Shreya Ghoshal.”

Well, this combination of Shaan-Shezad Rafique-Shazia Manzoor and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan looks great, but let’s see how the end product turns out to be. We wish best of luck to the director and his gang for this film.
