Zara In, Humaima Out..

Previously it was reported that Pakistani actress Humaima Malick; after making a successful silver screen debut with 2011 Shoaib Mansoor directed Bol, has been cast against Shaan Shahid in upcoming Shehzad Rafique directorial ‘Sufi drama’ flick Ishq Khuda.

Now according to the director of the movie, Humaima has left the project as she couldn’t plan her shoot dates and now Zara Sheikh will be replacing her in the film.

Organised few days back (1st January 2012) was film’s Launch Party at Punjab institute of Language, Art & Culture (PILAC) which was attended by numerous bigwigs of Pakistan film industry alongside the cast, director, writer and production team of the movie.

Speaking at the function, director Shehzad Rafique said, “We have got Shaan, Zara Sheikh, Ahsan Khan, Meera and Saima in the film, however Humaima Malick; who we had previously cast for the lead role, is no more part of the movie as she had some difficulties adjusting shoot dates.”

Furthermore he said, “We are working really hard on each and every aspect of the movie and the music is one them. Shazia Manzoor; who is making a comeback to playback singing after almost 12 years, has sung majority tracks, whereas a duet song of her and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is also in the movie.”

Shehzad didn’t talk about the news that had made headlines few days back about Pakistani folk and sufi singer Sanam Marvi making a playback singing debut through Ishq Khuda by an Item song in the film.

He also told that Wajahat Attre has composed the music of the movie and about shooting he said, “It will commence soon.”

On the other hand, part of the the film cast, Shaan Shahid who is famous for usually avoiding such events, in a post-event media interaction said, “I have always preferred Pakistani films over any other foreign offers but my basic difference is with those films that our audience and our sisters come to watch and return back disappointed due to vulgarity and bad quality..It hurts me a lot.

Talking about his another highly anticipated film ‘Waar’ Shaan said, “Waar is an English film or almost an English film, beautifully made and I would say Bilal Lashari has done a good job, the producer of the film Hassan Waqas Rana is also a very good producer and has written the film too. Its a very new venture and I hope and believe actually that the future of Pakistani film that links with various such dimensions, Waar is one of them. The technical facilities in the film, the very new people working on the project is all what interests to me more and I believe this film would prove to be a benchmark for all other future films of Pakistan.

Apart from Shaan, the female lead and the recent induction in the film ‘Zara Sheikh’, thanked all who attended the event and said, “Our industry is in dire need of good films right now and the attendance of such senior people in the event and then expressing their encouraging views on the film and the industry is really a good sign.”

Looking back at the brief history of this film, if you were following our website almost a year back, you would remember we brought you a news here that Shehzad has cast Reema Khan in his film and that she would be playing female lead against Shaan. But soon due to her personal and professional reasons, Reema left the project and Shehzad went on searching a new face. Then came Humaima Malick who as mentioned above couldn’t adjust the dates and she too finally ended up leaving the project. Now with Zara having the lead role, it would be interesting to see whether she takes the project to the end or leaves it in the midway.

Below we are attaching the film poster that was uncurtained in the same event and it also states the film release date to be Eid-ul-Fitr 2012.
