Lollywood goes ‘Pardes’

Waar UK releaseWith success already kissed in the homeland, a couple of Pakistani films are now making headlines in the foreign tabloids. Thankfully, for all the good reasons. Waar, the biggest thing to happen to Pakistan film industry so far, made us proud by its successful release in UAE region after its long blockbuster run in Pakistani Cinemas. It is indeed the right time to further this process of creating a global image for Pakistan film industry.

Realising the global potential of the film and the importance of Pakistan film industry’s international image, the makers and distributors of Waar, have now decided to finally screen the film in the cinemas of U.K.

ARY Films-Waar’s distributors– in this very regard announced earlier this month that the date of 17th January 2013 has been locked for Waar‘s release in Britain. The release we hope will again be as grand as the one in UAE, or who knows maybe even bigger, and that Shaan unlike his ‘flight miss’ for UAE, will be there for movie’s Red Carpet Premiere this time, ‘if there is supposed to be any.’

Chambaili UK releaseOn a separate level of happenings, it was also announced a couple of days back that Geo Films’ last local release, and another superhit product of Pakistani Cinema, Chambaili, is also set for its release in United Kingdom on 21st February 2014.

Chambaili, unlike Waar, hasn’t been released in the Emirates yet or anywhere outside Pakistan for that matter, but still one can expect that too happening in the near future. According to the Facebook page of the film, the movie will also be screened in film festivals in Singapore and Australia in the months of February and March.

Apart from the two bigwigs, Iram Paveen’s much acclaimed, Josh, is also taking international rounds these days and will stop at U.K. with its limited screening in Odeon Cinemas all across Britain on 25th and 26th January. For more information on its screenings, click here.

International Release, though isn’t entirely an alien idea for Pakistani films as couple of them have made it to foreign lands in past too, but it is still in the ‘achievement’ phase for the films and their distributors here. With all these films and more announced to be coming abroad, we hope the idea will one day in near future will stand as norm in Pakistan film industry.
