Mona & Meera have decided to say goodbye to small screen

Drama industry of the country will soon face a great loss because of Meera and specially Mona Lizza’s decision to leave mini-screen permanently.

Both the actresses have decided to take this decision as they have now started getting involved more and more on the bigger Screen, which is also the ultimate goal of an artist.

Mona Lizza who started her career with ARY’s drama serial called Rabia Zinda Rahegi is now busy in some of her last plays on small screen and has also stopped signing any more dramas.

She is currently working in two of her last projects on mini screen, one of them is upcoming drama serial Jal Pari which is made under the famous banner of “Humayun Saeed Productions” while the other one according to some reports is named as Anokhi.

On the other hand Meera is also busy in packing up and moving permanently on big screen. Geo Tv’s upcoming reality show Kaun Banega Meera Pati is said to be one of her last projects on mini screen.

She is currently doing two films in India, whereas in Pakistan she has recently worked in Faisal Bukhari’s Bhai Log and Jarrar Rizvi’s Son of Pakistan, while two of her upcoming movies named Devdas and Victim seem to be in doldrums or are at least unexpected to hit cinemas in 2011. Meanwhile she has stepped into film direction as well and has recently announced a film called Oscar, which is expected to come-out next year.

Similarly actress Mona Lizza is also busy in her film projects both in Pakistan and across the border. She is currently doing at-least three film projects in total, from which two of them are Pakistani while the remaining one is from Bollywood. Shooting of her film Gidh is in full swing, and on the same time she is also expected to make a cameo appearance in Syed Faisal Bukhari’s upcoming film Saltanat.

The news will surely give a sudden setback to small screen but the drama industry of the country is very much capable of filling the gap in no time.
