Camera closed for “The Dusk” : Producer Wajahat Abbas Kazmi

“The Dusk” an upcoming Pakistani movie  produced by previously known as Blue Venice pictures now turned into ‘Wajahat Kazmi films’ is done with all of its camera work and will soon knock cinemas near you.

Confirming the news, producer of the film Wajahat Abbas Kazmi in an interview to Galaxy Lollywood said, “Although we still have a day or two’s work left but I believe it does not weigh much  if we compare it to the work we have done so far. The major  part of the film is now done with  and soon we will be going towards a proper marketing campaign for it.”

“One interesting fact about its shooting is  that we initially had a deadline of 45 days for the completion but due to the professionalism and hard work of the entire cast and crew we completed it in a record timing of mere  38 days,” exclaimed Wajahat in an excited tone.

When asked about the part of Shabana Azmi in the film, he took a deep breath and said, “Well! The plan was all final  before the recent bombing in Mumbai, but after that we are not really sure whether she will be able to make it or not. So you see its all in the middle right now but let’s see what happens.”

Replying to our question:  “What actually the film is all about?” He said, “I think the movie will depict the current state of our society. Now many would speculate that is this is going to be something similar to Shoaib Mansoor’s  recently released Bol, therefore I want to set the record straight and put all the rumours to rest. No!  our movie is way different from whatever we have seen in past. We have picked some of the topics that are currently the talking points in the society, I remember director of the film Z-Shaan Kazmi in one of his previous interviews mentioned that movie has a subplot about the death of Osama bin Laden and its after affects, so this is one example of what I said earlier. Apart from that, we have then touched upon the topic of Shia – Sunni conflicts, we have also raised a very serious topic of ‘Missing people’ in Pakistan, and finally we also have given a glimpse of this hot issue of Drone attacks.

The basic story of the film revolves around a newly wed couple and then the same couple after the tragedies it faces, so its like a present future  scenario, the whole story and all the points which I mentioned earlier are then linked with the life of these two individuals. You see, the movie will basically show the consequences of whatever’s happening in our society on this couple, and it will also discuss that what could happen in the next five to ten years if the state of our country stays the same and we do not try to bring reforms, said Wajaht in an explanatory tone.

Z-Shaan Kazmi, Director of 'The Dusk'

Lauding the work of his team members, he said, “I was lucky to have a great team so as to finally bring my hand penned story on the big screen. It’s rare to be working with such an amazing team as in Pakistan we still don’t have that maturity in the film industry compared to what other people have anywhere else in the world. You see the director I got ‘Z-Shaan Kazmi’ was highly dedicated towards his work, and the thing that impresses me most about him is the fact that he has that art of bringing best from whatever resources he has with him, and this you will  surely notice in the final product.

“In rest of the team members I would like to appreciate the efforts of the assistant director of the film Majid Baig, Director of photography Shahid Mahmood who has been working with PTV for quite a long period of time and all his skills are really worth praising. Apart from them I guess the lead cast members of the film Salman and Uzma Khan have put a tremendous effort in the movie, they knew they are young to the industry so they preferred rehearsing the whole sequences first with the director and then go for the final shots so that they can give their best to the camera.” Said Wajahat further commenting on his team members.

When asked where he sees his movie will stand amongst some of the biggest films of Pakistan in competition with the product he is making, he said, “Well, I really can’t compare it that way, this was more of my experimental project and I think there will be some loopholes in it but it will all improve once we succeed in bringing the real entertainment activity back in Pakistan, and I am committed in that mission of mine”.

He also disclosed that previously he was planning to start the marketing campaign of the film just after the completion of its shooting , but as the holy month of Ramzaan is on its way, so he preferred pulling his plans back. But nevertheless the promo of the film which according to him is almost complete will be released  on 28 July 2011 on the official website of the film www.theduskfilm.com.

Well, Galaxy Lollywood sincerely wishes him ‘Best of Luck’ for his project and we hope it goes on to become one of the biggest hits of the Pakistani cinema.
