The trailer of ‘Na Maloom Afraad 2’ took the internet by storm when it released two days ago. The crisply edited high-octane trailer gives preview of what is in store in the second installment of the comedy franchise. It effortlessly succeeds in getting eyeballs by offering plenty of humor, action and masala – perfect ingredients for a potential winner.
The dynamic duo of Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza has earned a big name in short time by giving two hits back-to-back. Their first film ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ had some serious issues, which they greatly improved on in the second film, ‘Actor in Law’. The trailer of ‘Na Maloom Afraad 2’ clearly shows the director-producer duo has upped their game and is ready to rule the box office, again.
‘Na Maloom Afraad 2’ certainly looks “bigger and better” than the prequel, as claimed by the makers, with top-notch production quality of an unprecedented scale. This time the film is set in South Africa, thousands of miles away from the settings of the prequel. The added-value of picturesque locations of Cape Town has enhanced the cinematic experience of the film. The aerial shots of the port city, with lavish architecture and luxurious beaches, look very impressive.

Most of the prequel’s original cast is retained in the film, with addition of few actors in new characters. Javed Sheikh, Fahad Mustafa and Mohsin Abbas Haider are reprising their roles in the film. The chemistry between the trio seems better in this part, as they are planning for another get-rich-quick scheme.
The addition of Saleem Miraj and Nayar Ejaz, as two antagonists, seems exciting. Although Nayar’s character of a filthy rich Arab sheikh lacks novelty, but his antics are fun to watch. Saleem Miraj, who had a cameo in the prequel, is set to become an entertaining villain in the film. We expect a lot from this powerhouse of performance.
Hania Aamir is added as a new female lead in the sequel. She is looking really hot in modern chic avatar, leaving the image of cute Palwasha of Janaan far behind. Urwa Hocane, however, seems to have nothing more than a supportive role in the second part as well. She played love interest of Fahad Mustafa’s character in the prequel and does not seem to play more than that in the sequel as well. Duh!
The trailer also teases on the dance number by supermodel-turned-actor Sadaf Kanwal, who debuted at the silver screen with Balu Mahi earlier this year. The less than 2 second shot of the grandiose set and sizzling Kanwal has raised the curiosity bar. The makers tried the similar trick with the tease of Mehwish Hayat’s Billi in ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ trailer, which turned out to be a massively hit item number of Lollywood. We expect the same this time as well, knowing that it is also choreographed by talented Nigah Hussain. We can’t wait to watch it!
The film’s story does not seem anything new to offer, as Bollywood has tried similar plots umpteen times before. But the humor and comic situations, in addition to good acting and direction, makes it worth the wait. We hope the film will be as crispy and entertaining as its trailer and it will win big time at the box office.
‘Na Maloom Afraad 2’ is produced by Filmwala Pictures in partnership with Excellency Films and distributed by Urdu1 Films. It is slated to release on Eid-ul-Azha.
