Arth Trailer: Bow down minions, for the king has arrived!

The king is back, and how!

It would not be wrong to say that when we talk about superstars in Pakistan there are not many names that make the cut, and if we narrow the list to film based superstars well the list gets even shorter. But there is one man who for almost three decades has consistently been topping this list and that is Lollywood’s original superstar Shaan Shahid who is ready to prove yet again why he is a force to be reckoned with as his next venture Arth releases this December.

The trailer for this film released a few days ago and we are in awe of what we saw on the screen. Directed by Shaan Shahid the film stars Shaan himself, Mohib Mirza, Humaima Malik and Uzma Hassan in leading roles and is a retelling of the original ‘Arth’. What that means is that it is not a sequel or a reboot but it just tells the story from a different vantage point. Kind of like if there was another ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’ which told the same story from mischievous Durdana’s point of view and focused on what was going on in her life when the drama as we saw it was unfolding on the silver screen.

Arth marks Shaan’s comeback to the director’s seat after his last ‘Zill-e-Shah’, which released in 2009, and going by the trailer Shaan has left no stone unturned to make sure that this film is on everyone’s must-watch list. From the breathtaking cinematography to the beautifully written characters ( although we wish we got to see more of Mohib and Humaima in the trailer) the film is probably the first hardcore romantic drama which shows the real side of romance and not the fairy tale version we generally see. Add to that the music by Sahir Ali Bagga and this one looks like a winner already.

What we particularly liked about the trailer was the fact that it actually looked like a film and the credit goes Shaan’s expertise as a film-maker and the fact that all the four leads are actors who have been choosy with their work and haven’t been over-exposed with dramas, commercials. The result of this all was a trailer which was actually an experience in itself and has us desperately waiting for trailer number two to arrive as sources reveal that Shaan is working on another cut which will soon be out.

Till then enjoy the original trailer and let us know what you think
