Asim Raza’s “Parey Hut Love” is releasing on Eid ul Adha, 2019, and it is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after films of next year. Recently, a BTS clip surfaced on social media and we dissected it to predict what possible goodies the film has in store for us.
Locations
As it was already known, the film had spells at the metropolis of Istanbul and the city of palaces, Bahawalpur. The film also, however, appears to be extensively shot at Darawar Fort and Northern areas, possibly Neelam valley and Naran-Kaghan.
The canvas of the film seems versatile and expansive where it captures the shores and bustles of Istanbul, palaces and forts of Pakistan, and the country’s natural beauty from south till up-north.
A pinch of “Déjà vu.”
There is a celebratory song somewhat on the lines of “Shakar Wanda Re,” where almost every character of the film will be seen dancing to the beats. The participants include the likes of Shehryar Munawwar, Maya Ali, Zara Noor, Hina Dilpazeer, and Nadeem.
Nigah Hussein is back as choreographer for the song, and we hope to witness some trendy dance moves just like the iconic steps of “Shakar Wanda Re.”
Characters
Sherhyar Munawar’s character seems to go through a transformation in the film where he has two different looks. The one where he is donning a moustache, giving him a “Turkishesque” look, while in the other he is sporting a full-grown beard, which is somewhat semblable à Ho Mann Jahan.
Moving on, ageless Lollywood diva, Meera Ji will be seen in a celebratory song along with the main protagonists. And the item boy of Pakistani cinema, Ahmad Ali Butt will also get to woo us with his adorable dance moves in a shadi Number.
Mahira’s cameo in a “never seen before way” will be another feature of the film. Clad in a red ghagra, Mahira says “Parey Hut” in a very cheeky and tangy way, getting us intrigued about her presence in the film.
Themes in the film
PHL appears to explore various themes across its screenplay, some of which are reminiscent of Asim’s earlier works. These include a group of friends going up north for a vacation and the quintessential “excursion trip song” featuring all the four friends.
There is also a romantic song picturised on Sheheryar and Maya at Ramkot fort Mangla, the same location where the song named Sangam Hua from the blockbuster Tere Pyar Mein (2000) was picturised. Sangam Hua featured Shaan and Zara Sheikh, and so, while looking at the shot, it gave us old Lollywood vibes right away. The song, by the way, also earned HSY a National Film Award for best choreography.
The beautiful first look poster featuring Maya Ali and Shehryar also appears to be taken from a scene shot at the same historical fort. This will be the first time in about two decades when a mainstream Pakistani film is shot at this site.
From the looks of the BTS footage, PHL tends to portray Pakistani architecture, heritage, and truck art with all its pomp and show.
Side Note: Raamkot Fort looks straight out of a Game of Thrones or Camelot location.
It’s a Wrap-up
Well, the final spell of the film has already been shot, and with that, the film has officially entered in its post-production phase. Director Asim Raza celebrated the shoot wrap-up with a grand press conference that had pretty much everyone attached with the movie in attendance.
With potentially so much in store, we are really looking forward to the film and hope it comes out much bigger and better than Ho Mann Jahaan. Keep reading GL for more updates on the film.
