Mohib Mirza’s name needs no introduction when it comes to the Pakistani entertainment scene. The critically acclaimed actor has proven his mettle time and again on both big and small screens. He was, however, missing from the big screen ever since the debacle of Shaan’s directorial comeback, Arth.
What had been cooking up in the meanwhile was his directorial debut on the silver-screen. Although the actor has kept most his cards close to the chest, he did recently reveal the first look and the title of the film.
Mohib, however, insists that none of the other details being reported by several tabloids regarding his film have any truth to them.
A Hyper-Action Comedy
This secretive aura around the film naturally had us intrigued and that’s when we got in touch with the man himself, Mohib Mirza, and got some exclusives on the film.
Cheekily titling his film, “Ishrat – Made in China,” Mohib told Galaxy Lollywood that except for the first look and the title, he hasn’t revealed anything to the media yet. So, whatever is being reported by the tabloids regarding the cast isn’t official and hence the presence of any actor reported earlier may not be true.
He, however, revealed this much to us that the film will be a “Hyper-Action, Comedy,” in the genre. This is, definitely, something unheard of but going by the sound of it, we are expecting a film with a lot of intense and fast-paced action sequences wrapped in comedy.
On Floor Already
The director also revealed that the film is already on the floor and that the shooting and the promotions will go alongside each other. “As of now, I stand with no PR company and or a proper marketing structure. Since everybody was talking about the film, I decided to cook up some material on a personal level and revealed it along with the name,” he further said.
Additionally, Mohib said that he will reveal the cast once he has a proper promotional structure in place and it will be “really really hot.”
The Cast Reveals Itself
While Mohib is refraining from revealing the cast at the moment, looks like the cast itself is finding it hard to keep the secret.
From the time since the first look of the film has come out, Shamoon Abbasi and Sanam Saeed have shared the video on their social media handles, announcing that they will be part of the film.
A Little Background to Ishrat
Ishrat is actually one of Mohib Mirza’s iconic on-screen works from the past. He first played the character in now-defunct AAG TV’s comedy show, Ishrat Baji (2006).
In the TV show, Ishrat was this goofy, yet very loud and confident character who was famous for comically using street words like Ponka and Kaddu, and getting stuck in quirky situations.
Talking to us, however, Mohib said that the film might be something on those lines, but then something entirely different at the same time too.
Well, we at Galaxy Lollywood wish him the best and simply can’t wait to enjoy this interesting project.
