The night in Islamabad on 9th February 2019 remained music, and arts heavy as Mountain Dew presented Solis Music and Arts Festival at the Rock Musicarium Lake View Park in the city. Featuring some of the prominent local and international DJs and EDM (Electronic Dance Music) artists, the event had around 6000 people in attendance.
Among the celebrities and musicians, the event featured the local EDM sensation Turhan James, who by the way, is the son of PR Mogul Frieha Altaf. Besides Turhan, the event also featured some of the biggest EDM superstars from all over the world including DJ Danny Avilla, the Canadian DJ duo Joe Ghost & Kris Kaiden, DJ Maleo from France, and another French music sensation – the DJ duo FDVM.
Sharing their excitement over their performance in Pakistan, FDVM said, “We are so delighted to be here in Pakistan for our South Asia tour and perform at Mountain Dew presents Solis Music and Art Festival. We are really looking forward to meeting the public in Islamabad and share the good vibe and love over there! Pakistan has been so welcoming; we are having a great time.”
Similarly, the Canadian DJ Kris Kaiden said, “I am really excited to be a part of the fast-growing EDM scene here in Pakistan. I felt the energy the moment I landed here the first time.”
Another Canadian artist, DJ Joe Ghost was all praises for the country and its culture and said, “Pakistan is a country that is so rich in culture, everything from the food to the music has a unique appeal to it, and you can’t find this anywhere else, I am really excited to be able to experience it first-hand.
Also present at the event were the mommy supporting her son, Frieha Altaf, and Islamabad’s local boy, Uzair Jaswal.
What started with the performance of the local EDM talent, Turhan James ended at the performances by Spanish House and Electro House DJ Danny Avila. Other electrifying acts at the event included those by DJ Maleo, the Canadian duo Joe Ghost & Kris Kaiden, and the French DJ duo, FDVM.
The event that was sponsored by Mountain Dew and had its Public Relations affairs being handled by PH Solutions, was indeed one of its kind as far as the local EDM scene is concerned. We hope that it proves to be a catalyst in hosting more such international gigs in the country.
