The internet has been abuzz with sleuthing activity ever since renowned filmmaker and social activist Jami made horrifying revelations about his brutal rape, at the hands of who he described being a “giant from our media world.” Hinting at the identity of the rapist, Jami had also revealed the rapist in question was a “tycoon” whom he had worked with on numerous book launches and museum launches.
 
Almost immediately, journalist Omar R Quraishi, who was associated with the Dawn group of newspapers in an editorial capacity for well over ten years, jumped into the fray. He noted how Dawn took down Jami’s story within a short time of posting it on their web portal.

“Hope friends at Dawn have the balls to ask the management why the Jami rape allegations story has been taken down … since Dawn takes pride in reporting the truth and siding with the underdog,” Quraishi tweeted after the story on Dawn’s online portal regarding Jami’s painful revelations were taken down. Worse still, the journalist noted the complete absence of the story in Dawn’s paper today, tweeting:
