Elaborating more about the characters, Yasir stated: “Feroze will be playing a character who works from 9 to 5, whereas I will be taking over the avatar of an investigator.” Yasir chose to remain tightlipped about budding starlet Mawra Hocane’s role, saying: “I cannot reveal much about her character at this point, however, it is an intriguing role.”
Any particular reason why Yasir went for Feroze Khan and Mawra Hocane? “I introduced him as an actor and I think he fits the role rather well. As far as Mawra is concerned, I always opt for a new leading lady, having worked with Sohai Ali Abro, Sana Javaid and Neelam Munir previously. It should be pretty interesting to work with Mawra.”
A thriller with commercial elements
While Yasir is delving into the thriller genre, does he plan on sticking to his commercial, entertainment-oriented brand of cinema? The answer is in the affirmative, and the Dil Mom Ka Diya star added: “The film is not a very dark hardcore thriller, it is going to be a commercial entertainer with songs and even some lighthearted moments.”
Besides taking over the director’s megaphone, Yasir will also be co-producing the film along with his wife Nida Yasir, and also contributed to the story and screenplay of the project. The shooting for the film is set to commence in January, with the makers eying a release close to Eid-ul-Fitr.
