After delivering a critically acclaimed performance in the drama serial Alif, actress Kubra Khan has been quite absent from the screens. Her fans were looking forward to the Imran Ashraf starrer drama Mushk as Kubra’s next project, for she was initially supposed to be a part of it. However, that didn’t happen. Since then there was no news of Kubra having signed on any new project.
Well, now that has changed as Kubra Khan’s next project is going to be a film. Kubra Khan has signed on to be the leading lady opposite singer-actor Goher Mumtaz in the film Abhee.
Sources have confirmed to Galaxy Lollywood that the film has already gone on floors. Directed by debutant Asad Malik and written by Goher Mumtaz, the film also features a strong supporting cast boasting of names such as Asif Raza Mir, Yasra Rizvi, Hina Bayat, Saleem Sheikh, Usman Peerzada, Mehmood Aslam, and Mohammad Ehteshamuddin.
The team has wrapped up their first shooting spell in the stunning terrains of Kashmir, promising the audience a visual delight on celluloid. Abhee is said to be a romantic thriller, a first for Kubra, and a comparatively lesser-explored genre for Pakistani cinema. The film has the chance of appealing to the local cinema lovers who wish to see novelty on the big-screen.
Sources have also confirmed that Goher Mumtaz has not just written the script but has taken on the responsibility for its music. Goher has composed the music for the film and has roped in big names like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Aima Baig to feature in the film’s soundtrack. And the most interesting news is that Kubra Khan is also going to be a part of the soundtrack as she has lent her voice to one of Goher’s compositions in the film. This will surely be one of the highlights of the project.
The makers of Abhee are aiming for a 2021 release. Stay tuned to Galaxy Lollywood for all the related news and updates.
