HUM TV has announced its upcoming drama,‘ Qissa Meherbano Ka’ starring Ahsan Khan, Mawra Hocane, Mashal Khan, Khushhal Khan, Zaviyar Naumaan, Mohammad Ahmad, Ghazala Kaifi, Zeb Rehman, and Laila Zuberi .
Mawra Hocane delivered a superb performance last year as Inaya in ‘Sabaat’ and taught many women a lesson on standing their ground and being independent. Mawra is now returning back to television with ‘Qissa Meherbano Ka’ and from the looks of it, the drama is certainly going to add another star to Mawra’s acting credentials.
Ahsan Khan will be returning with a negative character once again after Qayamat. As Rashid, Ahsan Khan was mighty impressive, blowing life into the drama with his scenes and with the teasers of ‘Qissa Meherbano Ka’, it seems that we’re in for another exciting character.
Synopsis
‘Qissa Meherbano Ka’ seems like a multifaceted drama that will be tackling various issues. Going by the teasers, it seems like a family story caught up amidst lies, love and deceit.
The first five teasers have been released by the channel already with introductions for all its central characters. The first teaser shows Ahsan Khan again in a negative character, one who seems remorseless and not at all apologetic for how cunning or full of deceit he is. He plays Murad Ali, who claims to be more manipulative than a chameleon that changes colours.
The second teaser introduces Mawra Hocane playing the central character Meherbano, a simple, loving girl who was sacrificed for an unfulfilled promise.
The third teaser shows the first frames of Zaviyar Nauman’s character Mehraam, who will be marking his television debut. From what we see, Mehraam is a love-struck individual who happens to be hopelessly in love with Meherbano, but circumstances seem to have drawn the two apart.
The fifth and sixth teasers of the drama highlight and introduce the characters of Areej Mohyudin and model turned actor Khushhal Khan respectively. Both Areej and Khushal will be seen in meaty roles, pivotal to the plot of the drama. Khushal’s character seems to have a tussle of his own with Mashal Khan while Areej is family for Meherbano.
All five teasers for ‘Qissa Meherbano Ka’ serve the purpose of character introduction so far. However, from what little we gauged, it seems that the drama will revolve around Meherbano who was married off as a sacrifice for an unfulfilled promise. While it seems she will be fully accepting her circumstances, it will be the characters, Mehraam and Murad Ali who will wreak havoc in her life. All in all, ‘Qissa Meherbano Ka’ will be an exciting watch, a drama that is sure to bring some high dose of emotions to our screens.
