Ali Zafar Awarded Pakistani Singer Of The Year At DIAFA Awards

Pakistani sensation Ali Zafar was honoured with the prestigious title of Pakistani Singer of the Year at the 7th Edition of the Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards (DIAFA) in Dubai. Dressed impeccably in a black suit adorned with a bow tie, the Jhoom singer not only accepted the accolade but also graced the audience with a mesmerising performance, showcasing his exceptional musical prowess.

The presenter, acknowledging the rich and diverse musical landscape of Pakistan, praised Ali Zafar’s phenomenal impact on the global music scene. “Music from Pakistan is rich and diverse, reflecting the nation’s cultural tapestry and appreciation for diverse musical expression. Tonight, we celebrate the Pakistani artist whose impact has been nothing but phenomenal.”

Expressing his gratitude, Ali Zafar thanked the awarding committee and the event attendees. However, his appreciation extended beyond the world of entertainment. “I am particularly moved by the gesture that this ceremony brings to light the plight of a very important cause, which is what is happening in Gaza and what has been happening in Palestine for decades. Yes, we are entertainers, actors, and singers, but first and foremost, we’re human beings.”

The DIAFA Awards, founded and presided over by Dr Michel Daher, aims to connect art, culture, cinema, music, and business to unite people from various walks of life. He said, “We want our audiences to know that no matter where they belong, it is these cultural threads that bond us together for a larger purpose.”

The event not only recognizes outstanding talent but also serves a higher purpose by supporting causes such as the “Tarahum for Gaza” campaign. Through a wide platform and global live TV broadcast, DIAFA is raising funds for Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed bin Rashid Global Initiatives, and creating awareness about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine.

Ali Zafar joins the list of Pakistani celebrities honoured at the DIAFA Awards. In previous editions, luminaries such as Maya Ali, Sajal Aly and Mahira Khan received accolades for their outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment. This recognition on international platforms signifies the global impact of Pakistani artists, making the nation proud on a grand scale.
