Salman Saqib Sheikh — popularly known as Mani – is the poster boy for comical roles in Pakistani films and content. Having been part of the industry for well over 2 decades, Mani has played numerous witty and whimsical characters in films across the period. His role as Gaffar Ali in Money Back Guarantee is no different, but what caught our eye is that the late Aamir Liaquat Hussain wanted to play this role.
Aamir Liaquat Hussain Wanted to Play Gaffar Ali’s Role in MBG
Speaking about his role in the recently-released film Money Back Guarantee in an interview with Geo Digital, Mani — who plays Gaffar Ali a Karachiite, who prefers to be addressed as GA MUHAJJIR — revealed more about his role and claimed that he was the first to be cast as Gaffar.
Mani shared that he had discussed the character with late anchorperson Aamir Liaquat Hussain after director Faisal Qureshi made his offer. “I’m missing Aamir bhai a lot in my movie; he was very excited to know about Ghaffar and wanted to play this character; he even called Faisal Qureshi to cast him for this role; our friendship was like this; he promised me he’d watch my movie when it came out.”
Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s Voice Will be Heard in Aziz Jindani’s New Film
As per Mani, Dr Sahab also did dubbing for Aziz Jindani’s new film, in which Hira also dubbed her voice for a character. He added, “I’m desperately waiting for it to be released.”
‘He was the pioneer of Ramzan transmission and game shows, and many are doing great by following in his footsteps,’ asserted the former RJ.
Predicting the fate of Money Back Guarantee and his character, Mani further revealed that Ghaffar, like him, would cause controversy and go trending on Twitter the instant he appears in the film.
The actor also said that he will be returning to the screen shortly with the much anticipated Asfar Mani show.
